Arbor Hollow
- Takes place in the northeastern states in an isolated town of little significance and a ghost town of great mystery

- Town once flourished on urban legends of supernatural happenings but business began to wane
- Regardless, the national parks department named the area around the town an area of historical significance and nature preservation
- What most people did not realize, however, is that a lot of those legends? Are far from it
- Within the forests, protected by law and magic, lies a haven for magic and the supernatural kind, and beneath this, a town of fables and the supernatural lies buried beneath the earth but as vibrant and bright as the world above.
- Very few in even the government have access to the knowledge of why this area is guarded. Most just see it as either dangerous or an effort to preserve habitats. So few, in fact, the area has lost a great deal of funding due to the lacking in significance most people see.
- An organization known only as “The United Bureau” (for now), sees to the protection of human and supernatural alike across the globe, hosting a number of towns across the world much like this forest and underground haven, while also doing their best to keep the supernatural under wraps from most of the outside world due to the minimal number of supernaturals that exist on earth itself and in an effort to avoid an incident between the two kinds that could spell disaster for either.
- Theres a heavy debate by many of if it is fair to hide the existence of the supernatural from the world, but due to the extreme circumstances of the existence of the supernatural on earth to begin with, it has as of current been kept quiet at the behest of the representatives of both parties.
- These circumstances being, in particular, the fact that supernaturals came from an alternate world or dimension, often called the Alterworld, but are now trapped.
- The Alter World and Earth were once one, but became split for unknown reasons, the Alterworld holding the spirits of the residence of the split world and earth holding their “shells”. Because of this, almost every Supernatural, or Alter, has a mirror human counterpart and vice versa. Despite the split, the worlds once shared an open gate that allowed travel for the supernaturals strong of hearts between the two worlds, sometimes even enabling humans to follow with them. Many of the world's oldest myths, legends, religions, etc were formed from beings of the alter world, who once widely populated the earth alongside humanity. The United Beaurea, at this time known as the Brotherhood, was formed long between written history in an effort to unite the front between these two worlds.
- But, long ago, before history’s own records, something unknown happened, sealing the door between these two worlds and trapping many supernatural beings on earth. War, fear, disease and strife began to lower the number of supernaturals left on earth, and, being so few in number, they were forced to keep themselves secret, transforming into the beasts of myth and legend and religion they are seen as today.
- Following this, the Brotherhood became the United Bureau, as a select few people sought to protect humanity and the supernatural, enabling them to live side by side while also seeking a way to open the portal once more.
- Most Supernaturals are under the protection of the Bureau, said organization being the only official one in the world with any real say in the political, economical and defensive stances of the Supernatural, many people signing treaties with the Bureau for safety. However, there are some that disagree with their policies, either electing to remain neutral in the world or, in some cases, rebelling against the organization altogether, often going rogue and causing grief and havoc upon the human world, inciting more stories and keeping the fear of the supernatural alive.
- As a result of this, The Bureau has many branches and divisions (to be explored later) such as the Defense, political, engineering, science and research and economic branches. The most covert and active in both worlds, however, is the special operations branch: a branch composed of teams of supernaturals and humans alike who work to keep both humans and the supernatural safe from one another in a more involved and covert means, hunting rogues, investigating threats and keeping a constant vigil over all parts of the world. They rarely find themselves in one place for long but have been known to have some remain in constant close proximity to havens and facilities.
