Firebird

It’s 1946, and Royce struggles to find employment after being pensioned. He currently is a stay-at-home dad, and watches over the kids and their four cats while his wife Sophie is at work. He’s in the beginning stages of a midlife crisis, and constantly tries to distract himself by doing menial work around the house. However, due to how he was raised he feels guilty about not having “a real job”.

As a whole, the story focuses on his and his neighbor’s day-to-day lives, and is about dealing with unresolved grief, mental illness and trauma.
