Getting a head start on mermay bc I I don't start now I probably won't really get them out! I made some kimono themed mermaids? I thought it would be a fun idea! Hi! I am in the mood to make Japanese themed adopts. I wanna do yokai, as always, but will also incorporate more human designs. I will be going to a cafe to work with my friend in the next hour so I am hoping to get a lot of work done in general today!

I will probs do more freehand designs but will also do some base designs for cheaper options too! I wanna do spiders, mermaids, cats, shibas etc. For humans I am interested in doing Shirabyoshi, Miko and Geisha and maybe ninja although I've had trouble in the past selling those!

Also if you decide to comment or participate in the poll, I'd appreciate it if you only do so as a current or potential customer. It is kind of a weird ask and sorry I can't find a better way to word this; but in my experience advice from non-customers never really converts to sales, so it ends up being a lost effort on my end even if the ideas are great. Also I know times are tough so please do not feel pressured to participate in this poll! I always appreciate any support and contribution even if its just comments, and like so I hope you understand<3
I am kind of in a pinch for deadlines so I want to try to make designs that people are willing to buy and will enjoy; while also fulfilling my artistic needs (I feel like my designs turn out better when I design based on my current muse). My mother gifted me a super cheap laptop since my pc is old, and my newer one has some unresolvable error. It enables me to get out more which is nice so I tried drawing at a cafe to test if I could maintain productivity. I came up with these three designs in 4 hours, which is personally impressive since at home it takes me all day.

I hope this can increase my productivity and output bc I feel so sluggish working at home

Ok so its been a WEEK. This whole thing started when bindi had to go to the emergency vet for acute symptoms which led her to staying overnight in icu. My friend said that the vet told her they found a mass on her liver via x-ray and that it was not lookin good. I wasn't there to experience this moment myself, but my friend said the vet was basically posturing that bindi might need to be put down or would need an intensive cancer treatment. (i found this out much later but the x-ray was also sent do a radiologist for a 2nd opinion).

There were two follow-up appointments that I attended w/ my friend. The first appointment was to assess bindi ahead of her ultrasound since she would need anesthetic; but they were also able to share that the radiologist did not agree with the emergency vet's determination that there was a cancerous mass on her liver and could not make any further conclusions until the ultrasound. Bindi had already made an amazing recovery since her emergency visit though, so the situation felt a bit baffling and up in the air. Despite the news, her previous 2 blood tests still showed high levels of something which indicated abnormal liver activity.

During the pre-ultrasound visit; I started to think that maybe the cause of Bindi's issues was due to her prescription of a pain management medication (sorry I do not remember the name but it starts with a C or G). I remember Bindi started on this in Oct or Nov bc my friend told me about her arthritis pain, and that the vets told her at the time that it could be hard on the liver for bindi. When we were sat in the first appointment the vet seemed pretty avoidant to blame tthe incident on the medication. I remember my friend asking if Bindi could keep taking her pain medication, to which the vet kind of gave an indirect answer. She then noted " We love [medication] and its usually our go to medication for most pain issues, but we can get bindi on something that would have less side effects" (not verbatim).

After the visit we chatted about this and thought it was weird how they were reluctant to consider that the pain medication that they prescribed to Bindi may have caused her acute condition. It kind of reminded me of how pharma pushed doctors to over-prescribe opiates. The way the vet talked made it sound like that place had some sort of contract with a vet pharmaceutical company to sell their medications. I have no actual basis for this, just an assumption. Needless to say we were pretty frustrated. My friend went through SO MUCH, not knowing if she was going to lose bindi or what was wrong with her. On top of all of this, my friend has to pay for everything out of pocket bc nobody wants to insure bindi bc she had a rattlesnake bite incident a few years back.

To speed things up, the ultrasound came back with good results. Bindi is safe for now. She hadn't been taking the pain medication since the emergency vet; and my friend took her off of the prescribed diet that she felt wasn't working well for bindi anyways. The emergency vet sent Tiffany the write up and mentioned that Bindi exhibited signs of heart murmurs, but that was NOT communicated at all during the first visit nor in any sort of follow up during this whole ordeal... my friend was pissed, bc why would they fail to mention that in person, or in any sort of timely manner? This cost her a lot of money already as is, and I feel like all of my friend went through this because of human error.

It is inevitable for humans to make mistakes but these people have also been poor about being thorough and accountable. It's not cancer, but you have no other explanation? Reluctant to blame the medication as the cause even though liver damage is a known side effect.... and I am not even mentioning how poorly they treated my friend at the vet, but I do not want to get into her personal details much. The good news is that bindi is safe, but I feel like a lot of this never needed to happen.

For everyone who reached out; I still want to make the blanket for bindi. She is still an older pup and while she did recover we still don't know what got her sick that one day, I also want to finish this project as a sign of gratitude of our friendship and just for my friend to know that her and bindi are loved. I do have a WIP I wanted to make some dalmatian kemonomimi's! But I might restart bc I dont like their hair, maybe I can salvage it! Will update you soon
