Celestewings are a species of warrior dragons who have thick scales and spikes along their arms that they use as weapons.  

They are thought to be made of stardust, and often tell stories of coming from the heavens, but in reality they are descended from nightwings and rainwings!  

Animus magic caused them to be connected to celestial events, and leave trails of space dust wherever they go.  Over time, the trait as well as the soft fins that cover their back instead of spikes, were seen as desirable  and became the standard for celestewings.
