The city of Drine. A miracle of modern technology. When the wars between races came, the surface became unsurvivable. Something needed to be done. That’s when the Proctor stepped up and proposed a city. A floating city to be shared amongst all the remaining species. Upon completion, the Proctor was pronounced to control the city. It’s thrived since. The time is now for implants, modifications, and genetic engineering. Everyone has implants of some way. At least that’s what is said. The implants have connected everyone. That isn’t necessarily good. Should something happen to the satellite placed in the middle city, the results are unfathomable. The satellite ensure connection anywhere in the city. And along with that, the safety of all those with implants. If one were to take over the satellite, they would ultimately control Drine and every one in it. The implants have allowed people to talk between each other while the implant records what happens around them so they don’t miss anything. You could be doing anything in the cyberlink and the implant would allow you to continue to respond to things around you as you would if you weren’t in the cyberlink. It can do practically anything. Transfer money, purchase and deliver groceries to your house, it basically duplicated the entire city into a network where you can do anything you could in your body. Along with that, it allowed a way to transport comatose patients into the cyberlink. They could continue to know the world around them even while comatose. However the most significant ability of the implants are the servers stored in the satellite. Those with the implant, would in essence be transported into one of the many servers. Traveling between servers is made easy with the implants too. Those who do not wish to continue after death or simply feel like they are content and want to stop existing in the servers are allowed such. Those who’s bodies died can work in the cyberlink like they would out of it to have enough, if they didn’t already, to buy a mechanical body out of the cyberlink to continue to live outside without loosing their humanity. In the cyberlink, you must give your permission in order to die. Murder is considered impossible. Unless the satellite was breached. The Proctor currently handles any breaches himself and they’re resolved quickly. However there is what seems to be a corporation operating in the cyberlink, trying to gain access and over throw the Proctor. Their motives aren’t exactly known and it’s believed each has their own reason, Be it to rebuild back on the surface or to simply end what they think is morally wrong with the cyberlink.
