Strawberryblood enjoys being considered the leaders daughter. She constantly uses her status to bully and scare some of the younger cats, while acting like a perfect angel whenever Woodenstar is around. She doesn't care about being offically adopted, since she never wanted a new dad in the first place, although she does still view Woodenstar as a father figure.
Woodenstar views Strawberryblood as the daughter that he never had. Her former mentor, she is his pride and joy, and he puts her needs above most of the other cats in his clan. It's not uncommon for him to let her sit aside the thrones during clan meetings, or for him to invite her to every gathering, wanting to show her off to Fortuneclan. Although he's never formally adopted her, he does refer to her as his daughter.
Woodenstar thinks that Clementine is a pest, and often finds himself wondering why he even let the loner join the clan. He used to beg the orange cat daily to just retire already, although recently he's given up hope of that ever happening. He once tried to force him to retire by doing a surprise ceremony, but word must have somehow gotten out because Clementine never showed up. Clementine causes Woodenstar an unreasonable amount of frustration.
Clementine enjoys being a pest, and often comes up with schemes with Amberdemise to find new ways to annoy Woodenstar. Although his pride keeps him from agreeing to retire, seeing the frustrated expressions on Woodenstar's face is just a bonus. Clementine harbors a deep hatred for Woodenstar because of how he treats Luckykit, and he isn't afraid to talk about it.
Best friends since kithood, Woodenstar and Skullshard have one of the closest relationships possible on the island. Woodenstar often seeks out Skullshard's advice, especially on how to stop the rumors from spreading even more, and he trusts him with his life. Woodenstar often tells Skullshard secrets about the clan that he doesn't even tell his own deputy and mate, Feistychill.
It's not uncommon for Skullshard to act like a bodyguard towards Woodenstar, especially since cats started questioning his leadership. He carries with him a great concern for his leader and best friend, and he tries to help him out, although lately it seems like nothing can be done to stop his slow decline into unreasonableness. Having the opposite opinion of Woodenstar's about their relationship, Skullshard thinks that they aren't as close as they once were.
Blessingpaw is terrified of Woodenstar and always strongly considers faking an illness to get out of trying to help him. He dreads the day when he'll mess up his guesses and be revealed as a scammer, which is why he practices his observational skills more than he does herbalism. Because of this, he has a relationship with Woodenstar that can only be described as neutral.
While Woodenstar doesn't really believe that Blessingpaw can truly see ghosts, he never vocally expresses his doubts and even sometimes seeks out the young apprentice for help communicating with the deceased. He does, however, vocally express his disappointment with how Blessingpaw seems to be focusing more on communicating than learning how to heal cats who are actually alive, and he doesn't understand why he couldn't have just been a warrior apprentice.
Amberdemise makes Woodenstar a bit uncomfortable with all of his experiments, but he gets the job done, so he can't complain too much. He does, however, wish that Amberdemise would stop trying to make a medical miracle out of Luckykit. While the two cats butt heads a lot, there is a layer of respect that Woodenstar has for Amberdemise, even if he doesn't entirely understand his methods.
Amberdemise views Woodenstar as a big brother and enjoys annoying him. He always plays up how 'insane' his experiments are around the leader, just to see his reaction. He was one of the first few cats to suspect Woodenstar's affair with Feistychill before it became public knowledge. While Amberdemise doesn't respect Woodenstar as a leader, he does care for him, and he wishes he would just break up with Feistychill already.
When Feistychill was made deputy just five days after the death of Spiderdove, it created a lot of controversy for the now-public couple, with their previous affair becoming well known across the entire island. Some cats don't see it as anything more than gossip, while others have grown to dislike and distrust the two cats. Woodenstar tries not to let the rumors get to him or affect his relationship with Feistychill, but sometimes it's difficult not to.
Even Feistychill herself doesn't know if she truly loves Woodenstar or if she's just using him for power. The lines start to blur a bit when you factor a lifelong goal into the picture. Either way, her actions seem to prove that she does love him, even if they sometimes feel like an act to her. Or maybe she's just feeling that way because she's wondering if they are one or not? Why does love have to be so complicated...
How are you supposed to feel when your mate, who you were cheating on, dies and leaves you a single cursed kit? Woodenstar really isn't sure. He can't help but feel a little resentment, blaming her for the entire situation. At least they can still talk to each other in what he assumes to be Starclan, even though things have turned very awkward after Spiderdove found out the truth about his relationship with Feistychill. Deep down, he still loves Spiderdove, even if he refuses to admit it.
Spiderdove cannot stand even looking at Woodenstar. Ever since she found out that he not only had an affair, but became mates with Feistychill five days after her death, it takes the more experienced Dark Forest cats everything in them to hold her back from striking him dead. Though, also blaming Luckykit for her death, she does approve of how he's raising the young kit.
Since the moment that she was born, just seconds before the death of his mate, Woodenstar has despised Luckykit. It's not her fault, really, but Woodenstar can't help but view his unlucky child as a curse. Sent from The Dark Forest, surely, as punishment for having an affair. He tries to avoid her as much as possible, and not just because being near her for too long could cause his death.
Luckykit isn't sure if she's imagining it or not, but she's beginning to suspect that her father might hate her. She has no time to worry about that, though, when the world is quite literally crumbling around her! She wishes that he would stop sending her on solo patrols, but at the same time, a part of her wants to make him proud. Even if she hardly knows what he's like due to him distancing himself so much.
