- I'll be doing them in the order they're sent in and if I find I can't do one for any reason I'll just say so and move onto the next sorry!!

WELCOME to Suffer 2024!!! 

I took a break yesterday because of an exam (and largely today too because of a long trip) but now the festivities can finally begin for my year of pain and suffering, and by that I mean my year of resolutions!!!

Last year, my resolution was simply to see if I could make one fake Pokemon a day. I won that challenge!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!! It was more of a 'can I do it' than anything else, and turns out I was basically able to do it.

This year, my mainest resolution I'm going to be tackling is something that I'm really bad at!!! I am going to see if I can figure out how to draw humans/humanoids better!!!

Alongside that I have a secondary resolution-- but that one's a personal won't be on the Internet project you know how it is lol, and also a third resolution to finally try and make Rain World rooms and also figure out how to make actually good 3D models. Also my resolution is to come into 2025 with at least 1 major, if not 2. It's a big year

Note 1!! I will either be using my normal style (example), or my new experimental style (example)!! There is a rationale that I use when choosing, that I will not divulge due to being a secretive little gremlin and/or afraid of getting judged (again)

However, anything that states optional is completely optional. Good morning everyone, last night I had an epiphany:
I shouldn't be freaked out about posting blogs and then having people turn off blog pings from me, if I never post blogs. It was a real brain game sorta move

Ok I need to level with you. I know that a vast majority of people who are getting this ping are/were excited about Pokemon (because that's like 1/2 of my designs lol), and if you're part of that margin (sorry Rain World fans) then this is going to be interesting to you:

That's it that's the whole prompt. Demo's free on Steam for the next 10 days, it's marketed to have around 30 minutes of play time but uh I have 5 hours so like they're lying. Short fun demo, also currently being crowdfunded if you think it sounds cool you can go check that out too (it's got a presskit that's got all the art and stuff from the game you know you wanna see that too)

The main development team is the one behind Chicory: A Colorful Tale and Wandersong, with help from the studios behind Night in the Woods and Celeste, and being backed by the studio that made Don't Starve, music by Lena Raine-- like, can I sell this to you harder??

Legitimately my only gripe is that a few of the tracks (the character customization song, and Red's theme, along with the sound effects during an early-game cutscene) are a bit hard on my ears (which I think is heretical to say, because Lena Raine made the ost-- but, I have to speak the truth) the rest is awesome.

The battle system is basically a bunch of 2-v-2 battles where you play volleyball, like it's so simple but so fascinating at the same time. There's no rng or anything (no move misses, no crits, no nothing), every Beastie (the Pokemon of the game) are all created to be viable for battles, meaning you don't have to choose between your favorite Beastie and a competitively viable Beastie. There's a niche for every one!

Also, every Beastie has a palette, size and personality difference from every other Beastie. No need to look for shinies to have different colors anymore (even though-- there ARE shinies. Just keep that in mind hehe). Also, they're able to form relationships with one another through battles, which gives them interesting combo moves depending on whoever's in the field! Also for lore purposes (Rosey Stormageddon Besties moment)

Also, if you're one of those 'Pokemon is evil because you're taking the creatures out of the environment and enslaving them' people, then you'll also be pleased to know that 1) Beasties evolved to play volleyball 2) you don't keep them in small capsules (they just run around behind you emoting at every single object they pass) and 3) when you box a party member, they go back into the wild instead of being put into a box! So basically, not only is it Pokemon with no RNG, Pokemon with no looks vs. viability issue, it is also Pokemon but not extremely ethically challenged!

Finally just a warning, Cheerily is not in the demo do not look for Cheerily I am weeping about it too don't fall into my same pitfall trap. Also also the Pokedex for the game literally gives you concept art for the Beasties so literally what are you waiting for


The TL:DR is you really should play the Beastieball demo if you got 30 minutes free in the next 10 days, and also if you have access to Steam! It's a fun experience, and if we're to believe the devs it should be out sometime next year with DLC to come out at a later date due to people literally destroying the Kickstarter's original funding goal. Even if the game is delayed for a long time-- well, the demo IS still free. Personally I had a ton of fun with it, and I want other people to have fun with it too (and not miss out on the demo while it's still available!)

I legitimately need this game it is honestly taking up most of my thoughts not being taken up by Rain World and Art Fight at the moment

Howdy folks!!

So I don't usually make bulletins about things like this, but- this is important to me-

Tomorrow (June 1st) there will be a new Pokemon video released!! And because of a promise I made to myself several months ago, I'm going into hermit mode until the game comes out (and I can get a bit through the game). I want to play this game blind so badly, but seeing what happened after the first trailer came out and everyone immediately started spoiling EVERYTHING, I realized what I would have to do
