1. What is your favorite art piece you made this year?

That's...such a tough question! I love a lot of drawings, but it would probably be one of the drawings shown below!
- The first one took half of my day to work on and it probably has the most amount of shaded characters in one drawing! I personally really like that it shows a lot about the Genocide book in general (to be honest, the actual version shows the characters that were killed by Sirius & shows a lot of blood) and tbh I just really like the composition of it.
- The 2nd one was actually something I drew while I was mad at...many things! It was also the first time I tried highlighting in two colors and it looks really cool! I'd love to do it more often and I'm really happy with the pose. Even if the background was super simple (...it's just a solid black background), it helps enhance the vibe a lot more.
- The 3rd one is from October, if I remember correctly, and it was drawn at the earlier days of my relationship with ShadowDarespark as a gift for them after they had designed Exsynth. Even if the poses are simple, they speak volumes, with Exsynth being at the bottom and being surrounded by swords while Sirius is floating on top with some more energy swords around him. This was to show their relationship, one of them controls the other, at least for a little while.

2. What is your favorite design you made this year?

If we wanna talk designs owned by other people, it would probably be these! Two of them are owned by zenx help me

3. Which design or piece do you feel was *most* out of your comfort zone this year?

I would honestly say anything that involves irregular feet (such as Australis & the Executioner's Overdrive state, which you can see above). Some of the things that don't involve dark colors would also be out of my comfort zone...with varied success!

4. How many pieces of yours were personal art or vent art?

Gonna be honest with you, I feel like 60% of my art this year has been personal art while 40% has been owed or gifts for other people. I hope to be able to do 50/50 eventually, but I seem to do best on personal art as you can probably tell in my summary LOL

6. What do your chibis look like?

I don't even do chibis that often so uhhhh like this?

7. Piece you are least proud of! (what do you like/dislike about it, what is left desired, etc?)

Sticking with personal art, I would definitely say this one. I do like the general idea and the pose idea, but I really don't like the anatomy at all. The legs and the way the face is shaped doesn't feel right to me. And, the lighting feels super wrong in this one. This is definitely a drawing I would love to redraw at one point, I'm sure I can do a lot better. :)

8. Name some inspirations that shaped or inspired your work throughout this year!

HERE WE GO

- ShadowDarespark: Honestly mainly in terms of how they draw gore, but I find that I also really love how they draw certain features, such as how they make mouths go out of the face to exaggerate their expressions more. also i might be biased because they are literally my significant other shut up smh LMAO <3<3<3
- Splitathon: He's incredibly versatile and literally nothing stops her from drawing whatever he wants...and I genuinely fucking love that energy so much. Dave's able to do a lot of different kinds of art, like regular digital art, 3D art, even has dwelled in some blinkies and way more! you can say her art is based as fuck
- Sansol707: She mainly inspires me in terms of writing. Sansol is an absolute writing genius and she has helped me write a few things before and I'm forever grateful about that!
- Shonisso: She really has a way with storywriting to the point where she allowed me to borrow one of her ideas for one of Sirius's AUs (Ruination/Australis book) so honestly, an absolute genius! Not to mention, Sho is also able to draw a lot of different things, which again, is something I would love to be able to do eventually!
- xuxu: Xuxu's painting is just inspiring, I love the amount of effort they put on pieces that aren't as sketchy and as someone who struggles to pain, I do look up to them a lot! They've also helped me with some posing and I'm always happy about it :)
- Blackveii: Honestly their art is just legendary and the fact it took them so long to get to where they are is super impressive! I especially love how they shade and their anatomy is literally always on point...like woah... <3
- raiying: They mainly inspire me to try to paint even if I'm not as good at it! To be honest, they pull off the cute vibe I can't always pull off and that makes me wanna learn a bit from them (OFC IF THEY'RE OK WITH IT HELP ME)
- cy-chin: Similar deal to raiying, he always manages to pull off cute characters and I WANNA KNOW HOW TO BE BETTER AT DRAWING THEM HELP
- zenx: While they do take some time to work on their art, I love how hard their illustrations go? Like damn, they always pull off the coolest drawings and it makes me feel inspired a lot. :)
- Koisua: THAT RENDERING...ALSO MAKES ME WANNA LEARN HOW TO RENDER IN A MORE COMPLEX WAY (because my rendering is fairly simple imo)...I ALSO WANNA PULL OFF MADAMS BETTER AND KOI DEF GET THEM RIGHT WAH
- Paradecim: She has a similar art style to mine because we're both the kind to go simple and tbh I love that a lot
- PolySMG2: yo his designs go so hard they give me so much inspiration every time i'm prompted to draw them how is this possible

Here's some other people that inspire me: sarurun (yeah why do you think i commission him so much smh), alpacaduelist, Myiabi, jippocrisy, CORNTHEFT, ngl most people I regularly commission LMAO

And finally, I'd like to mention Banbuds because tbh all the red highlights I like to do is because of him LMAO also his mods got me out of a really bad time...

11. Do you feel your art has improved since the beginning of 2022?

Oh absolutely! I think I mainly improved in rendering, lighting (thank god because I used to suck at it so bad) & composition? Anatomy a little bit, but probably not as much as I think. I'm just glad I fully got out of the art style people tried to force me to have. While because of that, some people talked to me less, I do very much cherish those who still want to interact with me despite my art going towards a direction they might not necessarily like. For those who don't know, I tried going for a more anime-style, and it kept going for a little bit in 2021 before I branched towards the style I have today.

12. What are your art-related goals/resolutions for 2023?

- More adopts, hopefully at least one a month. Shadow shares this goal with me, so we will most likely be making many batches together if this is the case!
- Hopefully starting to sell merch of my OCs! Starting with charms & pins before branching out to other stuff. But, first I will need to move out.
- More lore illustrations, meaning illustrations that are canon to the stories my OCs are in.
- Hm, I'd like to also be able to draw ferals & mechas more. I can draw them, but I am very limited on what I can do with them at the moment.

13. Final notes!

I won't do the whole spiel I did about being grateful for those who follow me, but you genuinely mean a lot. As someone whose art can be seen as out of the ordinary at times, it makes me happy to see that people are very supportive of what I do and I'd definitely love to share more about my OCs through writing and through art! 2022 was actually kind of bad in terms of mental health, but I'm forever grateful that my friends have been around to support me. And, of course I'm always happy to support them back! I also would like to do a shoutout to the people in my Discord Server, Lilium Emporium! I'm so glad it managed to stick around for over a year, especially considering how I wanted to give up on it before the FP system got introduced. I hope that the events will be more fun...I have a lot in store!
