So, I personally took a Web Design class in high school where my professor actually walked us through the basic tags, and taught us how to build segments even before she taught us to build individual pages. I don’t know of a website or anything that can teach you on a super basic basis, but I do use a website called “W3 Schools” for brush ups on tags and their information.

As tedious as buying books may be, and actually getting through them are, I do also highly recommend purchasing any kind of basic HMTL 5+ and/or Bootstrap book that you could get your hands on. I have 2 or 3 from many years ago (they are a bit out of date, but if you buy new ones they obviously wouldn’t be. Also HTML 5 is the version, so if HTML 6 or higher has come out, and you can find books for them, definitely get those instead.)

There are also resources here on ToyHouse for coding snippets, but I don’t know how helpful they would be if you know absolutely nothing about coding. Additionally, coding on ToyHouse is not the same as coding for websites; as when you create a website, you have to build the entire webpage boundaries, blocks, etc. When you code on ToyHouse (for profiles, folders, etc), you do not have to do that, and only have to code the actual content.

Sorry if this was a little bit much! I do think it is worth the time and sanity to try and teach yourself how to code entire web pages (not whole sites, or multi-pages, mind you, just a single page layout!!) and not just shortcut to the ToyHouse content-only pieces.
