An exercise from my fall 2019 creative writing class. This is a two-part response to a prompt inspired by George Orwell's "1984" which asked, "What's behind the door of room 101?" For the prompt, we had to write a short story describing our character's response to encountering their worst fear, without explicitly stating what that fear was.
