Long ago, in the ancient forests of Japan, there lived the Edo Wolf. Anyone living today will tell you they are now extinct, but they are only half right. While it is true that the Edo Wolf no longer stalks the forests of Japan, they do live on. At the time when the situation was most dire, the most powerful dragon in the land approached the last living leader of the wolves, and offered them an alternative. Serve the law of the land and the dragons, enforce and uphold it in all situations, and he would save them. Wolves, as many of us know, are very respectful of rules and traditions, they agreed. The dragon shared his blood with each and every last one of the Edo Wolves gathered before him, and they, too, became dragons. Among humankind, they are known as Fubatsu, steadfast and unwavering... but among their own kind, they are called Gaizen, the sorrowful. Rarely do they smile, and even less do they laugh. They know what they have lost, but they will dutifully continue to uphold their end of the agreement from now until the end of time.
