Hello everyone! I (ttessau) am hosting a headcanoning/backstory event for the orphanage! This event will run for 2 weeks (June 4 - June 18).
Rules:
- You are able to make either a headcanon or backstory for any character in the orphanage. This includes characters in the freebie bin, mascots folders, the redesigning folders, and the general folders of the orphanage. The only characters who are not included in this event are those within the nsfw and pending folders.
- This event does NOT allow nsfw submissions.
- Only writing submissions are allowed.
- The prize for this event are tickets that you can use to adopt characters in the orphanage! The more you write, the more tickets you will receive.
- When submitted, your headcanon/backstory will be added to the description of the character.
- Characters are allowed to have multiple headcanons/backstories. If you see that someone has already made a submission for a character, you are still able to make something for that character as well.
- There is a limit of 10 headcanons/backstories you can make per week.
- Please note that when someone adopts a character from the orphanage they are NOT required to keep the headcanon/backstory for the character. This event is for fun and is not meant to limit the character for its new owner. Do not participate in this event if you are not okay with the possibility of your headcanon/backstory not being kept.
Writing Requirements:
- 25+ words: 1 ticket (25 words is the MINIMUM for this event)
- 50+ words 2 tickets
- 100+ words: 3 tickets
- 150+ words: 4 tickets
- 200+ words: 5 tickets
- 300+ words: 6 tickets
- There is no limit to how much you can write BUT you will be capped at 6 tickets per headcanon/backstory.

hallo! i have a question- i tried searching for a FAQ and didnt find one, but sorry if it's answered somewhere and i missed it ^^;
for someone who isnt an 'official artist', is the only way to obtain tickets to trade in other characters? i see a few in the shelter i'd love to adopt but i dislike sending in characters of my own- no offense, they just tend to sit for a long time, especially for shelters with character-only currency systems (i say this as the admin of a currency shelter that only recently added art donations as an option!)

Hello! You can still make art and get tickets from that art without being an official artist. You can send the art through our discord server or directly to the characters profile!

Absolutely! If you don't want to receive tickets as a reward, you do not need to use them. We will most likely place them under your name on our tracking chart anyway, but you are not required to use them! -🐦⬛

Sorry to bother you! I wanted to ask if there’s currently a chance to become a CA and create artworks or participate in redesigns.
Also, how should I submit designs or apply to do redesigns?

Hello! In order to become a Offical Artist, you need to submit at least 5ish different artworks to our characters! They can be redesigns, or just artwork for any oc! Headshot coloured or full body sketches, we don't mind what you do.
As to submit, simply write on the character or in the discord that you want to claim the character and we will move it to "Being Redesigned" folder so no one adopts them while ur designing! Once thats done, submit the image to the character when your finished and your done.
I suggest you join the discord, but you don't need to ^^ Just makes things a tad easier to keep track of.

Well usually we ask that you post outside of the forum because Darkfeather has already submitted a successful form for them which I have now cancelled pending this. (which was sent before your post so I missed it)

Their aesthetic fits perfectly as a heavenly guard in my heaven-and-hell story. They will befriend the main character and allow them to visit the other protagonist, playing a key role at heaven’s gates.
We always prioritize Original Creator returns however if you are happy for Darkfeathers to adopt them, let us know
Further note, Yakusoku, I assume 'Scenemolover' is your new account? I am quite happy to send it to that account instead if you still want them

Hey we would be happy to send them back to you!! But we would really appreciate it if you send a form in on our forum for track record!!! We don't usually give out characters outside of it other than back to the original designer. Right now the weekly limit is voided as we catch up on the backlog after Artfight so there's not much of a consequence for it

If I do art for an oc, can I make a bulletin (a “shout out”) about said oc? Like so that people know that they can adopt it and that it has new art ^^

Sure! Thats totally fine. You are able to do that! Just as long as you mention they'll have to go through our system
(Don't lead them on to think they can get it for free, since they'll need a ticket, unless you adopt for the person)
