Fuster

Synopsis: The world of Cerberus is not too unlike Earth. Its planet is similar in size, with countries and people not unlike our own. It is, however, home to thousands of species of monster, who live alongside humankind, not all with peaceful intentions. One of which is Wisteriavolt, a being known as a Black Aculeus, one of the deadliest races known to man. Although none are known for their warmth or kindness, Wisteriavolt is especially cold and brutal, and has hardly spoken a single word to anyone in a hundred years. Her past has become, overtime, totally obscured, and her disdain for humans all that is known of her, as she prefers it. Wisteriavolt insists on working alone. On being callous, and cutthroat. She does what she can to keep it that way. She does not want company, nor friends, nor loved ones. Not anymore. No, to Wisteriavolt, there is no one worth caring for, and there is no one she can trust.

Unfortunately, the world has other plans for Wisteriavolt. Whether she likes it or not, the walls she has built up, and the isolation she has sought for over a century must end, or the lives of everyone around her will. Try as she might to insist she would be happier that way, the echoes of her past are returning to haunt her, and now there are, as there once was, lives depending on her.

She must learn to cope, or she will die alone, just like the rest of the world, if she is to do nothing.

  1. Chapter One: Rex
    • In the Black Forest, located in the country of Scandivos, lives the cutthroat monster known as Wisteriavolt. Driven to self isolation due to mysterious past trauma, the closest thing she has to any friends are a selfish, hedonistic Onytrap named Pamperpuss, and a cranky, depressed member of her own species she begrudgingly looks after, named Shiverbones. In the woods around her are other local monsters, including Limb-for-Limb (a philosophical Chimaericon, and published author), Gashguts (a paranoid but highly intelligent Wyrdom), Moxieflame (a cheerful Brown Aculeus), and Gads (Moxieflame’s best friend, a jumpy Lesser Landcast Roc.) Not far away, in the human city of New York (Yes. New York), are two bright young monsters who intermingle with humans, Hoglegs, and Faceless. However, threatening all of their lives, and bringing them together, is a looming threat - a Grumböder Rex that kills anything and everything he is near. Wisteriavolt, the most capable of the monsters, has responsibility forced upon her in order to protect the lives of everyone she knows. In order to do so, however, she must face her past, and the scars it left upon her. If she even chooses to do so.
  2. Chapter Two: Aculeus Era
    • Slowly, things are settling in the Black Forest. The local monsters are learning to coexist, and finally beginning to find some peace amongst one another. However, change is brewing on the horizon, and there are still questions left unanswered. This all comes to head when a newcomer shows up, in the woodlands Wisteriavolt calls home. She is an Aculeus, like Wisteria, named Wildflower. Wildflower, altruistic and empathetic, is at first a welcomed addition to the barren wastelands of Scandivos, and beneficial to the human-monster relationship, and to the newly formed alliance Wisteriavolt found herself apart of. However, Wildflower knows more than she is letting on, and she does not trust as easily as trust comes to her. Not long after her arrival, sightings of two other monsters, wild and destructive, begin to plague the city, and slowly, it encroaches on the woods Wisteriavolt has come to protect. Enter Gluttonchop, the morally grey, self serving hedonist who creates upheavals with his arrogance, many impulses, and charisma which he brandishes like a blade, and uses in an attempts to flirt with the stony Wisteriavolt - causing further tensions - and Havercleave, the ruthless barbarian. The main crew must enter and explore New York in Scandivos, and meet the cracklings of Colorpop Aculeus, including Hivemind, and a rowdy warren of three led by Tabbytugger, in order to get to the bottom of these new threats.
  3. Chapter Three: Old Gods
    • Legend tells of the the first monsters ever monsters to inhabit Cerberus. Their names were Canis and Plutos, and they existed long before the dawn of man. The planet Cerberus revolves around a star called Canis, which serves as their sun. Rotating around Cerberus is their small moon, Plutos. In a myth shared by human and monster alike, these celestial bodies were once the legendary monsters, from which they draw their namesakes. Impossibly powerful, it is thanks to these two monsters that their is any light in the sky. Now, though, in the present day, this story is believed to be only just that. That is, until Canis and Plutos claim to be reborn. Or, rather, two in sync monsters assume their identity, and start a new age - one of Gods. The energy that creates monsters goes out of control, and Wisteriavolt must work with humans to protect Cerberus as they all know it, and in the process finally upheave the backstory she has been hiding, uprooting her past and traumas once and for all. Fortunately, her friends are there to help her.
