Synopsis: In the dreary town of Drill, nestled along the cold pine barrens of Maine, Lisa Cruikshanks attempts to kill herself. The whole ordeal is thoroughly publicized and broadcast by Criukshank, an artist who focuses on momento mori, following a months long series of clues left to forewarn the event. Critics panned this as in poor taste, and it was soon moved past and forgotten by everyone but one. The adrenaline rush of seeing a life nearly end, so close to him, in his hometown... it made him realize that was what he was missing.

He's come to be called Echo, after he began stalking young women while wearing a rabbit mask. First Tuesday, who escaped. Then Daisy, who lets him kill her. When the rush he felt witnessing Lisa nearly die isn't achieved, Echo assumes it is because of Daisy's willingness. So, he closes in on his next target - a deadeyed retailed named Eve. But with a life not worth living, and nothing to lose... Eve doesn't have any reason not to hunt Echo back.
