Plot Synopsis: Winona is a Wolf. She is the daughter of the Head Wolf, king of the mercenaries, and was raised by his pack. Violence and bloodshed are trivial, mundane things to her, despite her gentle nature. When her father goes missing, supposedly taken by the Trickster, a powerful and vile sorcerer, Winona is thrust into her father's place as Head Wolf, and tasked with bringing him back. While planning her first siege under immense pressure, she is approached by a magician who claims to know his way through the Trickster's defensive maze, and is willing to be her own personal warlock. His name is Allie. He's weak, and shy, and disabled by neurological damage that's left him with a debilitating stammer and limp. He's a talented spellcaster, though no one besides Winnie seems to be able to take him seriously, for the same reasons she finds herself fascinated by him. He's the first person Winona has ever met who is allowing himself to be soft, and immediately, she is enamored by his existence antithetical to her own.
