FallenGemsShelter's Profile Comments

Hello, I was reading in the comments and the thread you have that you're on Hiatus currently. Is that still true?

is there a way to receive gems without donating characters? I would like to get a particular oc for my friend, but I don't want to lose ocs in the process

Good evening: This group is on a temporary Hiatus while a new owner is in the process of taking over the group. But in cases such as these, you can donate art to pre-exsisting characters to earn Gems.

Information on that can be found here: ~Information~ on Toyhouse and here ~Information~ on Toyhouse

cool! so I can just draw the character I want a number of times to get them? :0

You would need to draw a different character. As every piece of art adds to that characters value. So if you drew the character you where wanting, it would just keep going up in value, and you would still be behind on the Gems for it. ( As you would only be gaining gems for the art you made, and not for the initial character price )

I don't see the sense in that, why would I want to draw and put my heart and soul into a character I won't be getting? Isn't the point in adopting a character to get attached and want to give them attention?

If I drew the character themselves I'd be killing two birds with one stone, getting enough gems with my art to earn them and getting attached to them so they don't end up in another "shelter"

The point is: Your donating your time, to earn Gems to pick up a character that you do like. If you drew the character themselves, you would never make the amount needed to get them.

For example: The character you want is 14 Gems - you do 40 Gems worth of art on that character, you only have 40 Gems, where as now the character is worth 54 Gems, because its the price of the character + the price of the art you have added. You would still be short 14 Gems. This is how the vast majority of the shelter threads work on here, and they have all worked just fine as is. If you do not wish to respect how the shelters work, that is fine.  But please do not be rude about it. A lot of people put a lot of time, thought, and effort into these groups to make them fair for the people that participate in them.

Hello there, this might be a weird question, but a design of mine is donated to this shelter without my knowledge or permission, do you guys have any rules regarding this?

Hello, it is me again. I am sorry if I come across as rude, I am not trying to be. I am really just wondering if you have any rules regarding donations against people their TOS and stuff. I understand if you guys don't and I also understand you can't do anything about it. But I am just wondering if you guys have any rules to prevent this/wanting to make a rule for this in the future.

Good evening. This group is on temporary hiatus while a new owner takes over. I was just a temporary stand in for the OG owners, and am not sure how they primarily handled such things as these. I will leave this message up, so the new owner can see it, and they should be able to answer your questions once they get the group situated. I am most sorry I could not be of more help.

Howdy! I am the new owner of this group, and while the group is currently closed, the previous owner mentioned you had a question about characters  that where donated against TOS. What I plan to do once I have the group re-organized and set up is I will be checking the TOS listed in the ownership section of the adopt - if there is nothing there at the time of it being donated, we will accept it, if there are rules that state they may not be donated to shelters, we will not accept them. If the rules change after its been donated, at that time I wont be able to do much, as the changes where made after a donation was sent in, and it wouldnt be fair for the person who got their gems for it if the character was no longer viable in the group, or for the group who would be at a loss for characters exchanged for those received gems.  But if that does wind up being the case, I will likely have it set up that the person who created the character is welcome to either donate a character of equal value for them, or do art/re-designs for the value of the character. So that way the group is not taking a loss, but it will also allow for them to be re-gained by the main creator. I may tinker with this a bit, as I figure out a better way of doing it. But my main objective is to try and keep the group as fair as I possibly can.

Which means I will be relying fairly heavily on TOS to be listed in the character ownership section at the time of accepting or declining the character, as in most cases I have noticed TOS are not sent with adopts if they are not already in the ownership section.

I hope this has been of some help to you, and if you have further questions, please feel free to ask. I will most certainly try to do my best to help where I can < 3 It may take me a little while to respond though, as the group is technically closed while I try to get everything back in order.

Hello there,

Thank you so much for your response, I really appreciate it. I think that those rules sound really fair, for both the donater and the artist.

I am just wondering if I can trade the character that was send in for another adopt? If I am calculating it right, it should be the same worth (both full body + flat colour). I know that the center is closed, but I'd really appreciate if I'd be able to get my design back. Although obviously would understand if this isn't possible for you to do!

Again, thank you so much for your response

That should be fine. Can you please link me which design is yours, just so I can make sure there is not an outstanding claim already entered into the group. If no one has claimed it, I have no issues swapping them out with you. < 3

Thank you so much! This is my design: https://toyhou.se/15702042.14-gems And this one is the design I'd like to trade it for if you'd like ( I just realised that this character is made with a base, is that a problem with your protocol?) https://toyhou.se/15408246.adopt This character isn't made by me, but I checked the creators TOS :)

hello, I was wondering if you've considered the trade :) I assume that you didn't see it, due to the shelter being a wip atm, so I though I'd maybe send another message just in case! Sorry :)

Hello, I am willing to send some characters, but how do I send them?

Hello, hello! Thank you for your interest in donating! To send characters you would click on the character you want to send, and then to the left there will be a menu, one will say ownership, click that tab and you will see a spot that says transfer character. Put our shelter name FallenGemsShelter in that bar, and you can send. Hope this helps, if you still need further help, please let us know and we will do what we can to help further.

Yeahhhh, I just realized that after I started to send one. Thank you!

Sure thing! I will get you tallied up in a moment here for the ones donated

Yeah, and lets just say that I have more to send.

Alright XD I will finalize the tally when you are finished sending then.

What are gems and how do you get them?

Gems are our form of currency at this shelter. You get them, either by donating characters you no longer want, or by doing art, or re-designs for other characters in the shelter. The number of Gems you get per character, or art donation, ect, is based on this pricing scale here: ~Information~ on Toyhouse

So, say for example you donate a character with 1 flat colored headshot, 1 shaded fullbody image with a simple background, that would be worth 26 gems.  Another example would be, if you chose to draw a character and do an art donation. Say you drew 1 flat colored bust for them, that would be 10 gems.

You can also, draw our mascot, which gives extra gems per image, so say you did 1 flat colored bust for them, that would be 14 gems.

All information can be found here: FallenGemsShelter on Toyhouse Through the links on our profile page. If you still have questions, feel free to ask, and we will do our best to help answer them.

Oh ok, Thanks!
