BrightClan KR6QHGy.jpg

BrightClan cats live in an open field of grass, exposed to the elements. The typically sand-colored cats eat rabbits, mice, and prairie dogs. Thanks to the wide-open spaces, BrightClan cats are the best runners and have the most endurance.

The leader of BrightClan speaks to their clan from the lowest branch of a dead tree. The leader’s den is inside the hollow trunk. Between the edge of the dry riverbed and some wild rose bushes is the medicine den. Herbs are stored in a small space dug out by the first medicine cat decades ago. Across the camp from the medicine den is the nursery, a cozy place inside a large fallen log, separated from the elders by a wall of twigs and mud in the middle. More thickets and brambles mark the den shared by warriors and Apprentices. Apprentices train in an area outside camp where the long grass has been flattened after repeated use.

Because they are mostly open to the sky, hawks can be very dangerous. Kits must be watched carefully so they aren't carried away. The badger on EchoClan territory occasionally wanders into theirs looking for food and water.

Hidden in the cracks and crevices of a rock-covered plain next to BrightClan and StormClan, reside the cats of Echoclan. Dark-furred and stealthy, they creep through the tunnels and caves like shadows, leaving no trace. They prey on pale-skinned lizards, tiny mice, fish from underground streams, and the occasional mole.

The clan leader makes announcements and performs clan ceremonies from a ledge partway up the main cave’s wall. Below the ledge is the leader’s den, a cozy space just big enough for them, their mate, and a trusted confidant or two. The medicine den is in a separate cave, hidden behind leafy vines. Wet moss clings to the walls of the smooth, eroded hollow, and herbs are kept dry between pieces of bark. Beside the medicine den is the nursery. Its walls are layered with grass and dried mud. The Elder’s den is similar to the nursery. Between the nursery and the Elder’s den lies the Warrior's den, separated by a row of stalagmites. Across from that is the Apprentice’s den. Apprentices train in the Sandy area outside of camp, protected by a trio of large boulders.

Their territory is not without danger; badgers, snakes, sharp rocks, invisible streams hidden by darkness, floods, and cave collapses are a normal part of life.

FrostClan etFc7UO.jpg

High in the snowy mountains above StormClan, live FrostClan. Their thick fur protects them from the cold and usually camouflages with the snow, helping them to surprise their prey of birds, rabbits, and lemmings. Frostclan cats are also exceptionally creative and often make temporary shelters or fun games with the snow.

They sleep together in piles: mates with mates, kits with queens, apprentices and others cats with their friends. The only exception is the elders who sleep near the warmth of the hot spring where the beds for sick and injured lay. Frost clan has no designated healer, and instead, all Apprentices are taught healing alongside fighting and hunting. They train whenever and wherever their mentor decides. Once an apprentice is old enough to become a warrior, they are invited to join The Circle. The Circle is how FrostClan makes their decisions, relying on the knowledge of all clan members rather than one leader. As a result, none of them have nine lives, but they are all rumored to live longer than the average cat.

These brave cats face large cliffs, freezing temperatures, ice, snow, rockfalls, avalanches, and even mountain lions.

Red-Sands Tribe AAAwJI3.jpg

Far, far, below BrightClan and FrostClan is the Red-Sands Tribe. These short-furred, reddish cats are experts at climbing sheer cliff faces and tracking pray on even the hardest surfaces with no prints. They eat mostly fish from the river that runs through their territory. After training on the rough, uneven ground, apprentices' paws toughen until they are able to climb the cliff face with ease.

A pile of large rocks marks the leader’s den. They climb on top to make announcements to the clan. The rest of the dens are in the sandstone cliff. The nursery and the elder’s den are both on the ground level, the apprentices’ den, the medicine den above that, and lastly, the warriors’ den.

They have little-to-no predictors. There are some places the cats avoid, however, due to sharp and breakable shale, and the swift movement of the river.

In a mountain valley beneath Frostclan live the fluffy grey cats of StormClan. They eat mostly frogs and birds. StormClan cats have generous dispositions and the medicine cats often goft or trade herbs and berries with other clans because they have so many to go around.

The stormclan leader addresses the clan from on top of a very large rock, beside which their den is located. The medicine den is inside a giant cracked tree stump. The elder's, warrior’s, and Apprentice’s dens are all underneath low, leafy bushes with drooping branches. The nursery is in a similar situation but reinforced with brambles on the outside. Apprentices train in a large flowery clearing with soft grass.

Some challenges that come with the territory are floods and landslides from the nearby mountains, and they are always on the lookout for bears or foxes.

This particular clan doesn't follow all the rules because I made it ages ago and took some creative liberties, but I'm very attached to it and the cats within regardless. I keep it separate from the more 'realistic' clans and consider it a different universe from the rest. The cats of DragonClan are fierce, brave, and exceptionally friendly. They are also all very bad swimmers.
