Escape from Glory ♡♢

In an alternate New Orleans riddled with fantasy and mystery, angels and demons swarm like insects towards either vice or virtue, and stop at nothing to eliminate the energies of the opposing side. Humankind getting caught up in the battle is not uncommon, but the bite of either entity will transform a person into one of Them, leaving a husk of a creature with feeble free will and a loss of humanity that drives them out of society.

Generally, humans seek to appease the angels and defy the demons, but it is a once-human-devil who saves Laila's life by giving her a mask to shield herself from the angels after she is bitten, staving off the transformation and giving her a little longer to try to reverse the magic. However, she isn't sure yet whether she's buying more time, or simply delaying the inevitable.

The basis of the story was expanded upon from a rough concept outlined by Laila's original designer/creator, seventeendeer! The original concept and Laila were purchased in a trade, but the rest of the characters and worldbuilding are my personal works.
