I use Krita's default brushes for everything!

Namely for shading: c) pencil-6_Quick_Shade Bristles_tapered Bristles_wet d)_Ink-4_Pen_Rough

Photoshop and Krita have a pretty similar UI and a lot of features that line up together, but krita is totally free and open source unlike photoshop :D
