The Goetic
Fantasy stories with a slightly darker tone.
A royal family were chosen by a strange god to save the world. The world's saviors, they were deified, hated, adored, married, murdered, sacrified, innured- but never allowed to be human.
Their family castle is built on the souls and sacrifices of all that came before them. The castle is constantly living and recombining, residents get absorbed and reborn at random. What seems like an evolving cast of residents is just a meaningless facsimile played out by the same few souls.
Set in the Kingdom of Lechnika, the newly crowned King finds himself haunted by three legendary Kings, here to teach him about royalty, duty and the transience of life. When they're not being nosy aunties at least.
A university for witches.
There once was a great dollmaker. Formerly a poor urchin from the streets, they rose to become the Crown Jewel of high society, delighting the nobles, and revolutionizing many fields with their exquisite dolls. However the nobles soon became dissatisfied, and begged for something bigger, and better.
The dollmaker created a city for the nobles to live in. Automated by clockwork and filled with doll servants ready at their beck and call, the dollmaker invited all of the upper class to live there. And so they went, taking with them all of their artists and scientists and beauties.
All the nobles live behind the walls. The poor surrounding it have never seen them since they left. They hoard everything, and nothing remains in the outside world.
They aren't there anymore. The dollmaker constructed a trap, to take back all of their regrettable work and destroy the nobles that have been terrorising the lower classes. Now the city stands as an empty husk, a monument to greed and selfishness populated only by the dolls.
