Sungaia is Lamina's very close friend! Despite Lamina isolating herself throughout her life in favor of focusing on knowledge, Sungaia grew into an individual that she could trust deeply and lean on when she needed to give herself a break. He makes her life easier, even if it's only with his presence. When they aren't teaching one another their respective expertise, or reading through one of the various books MDT has to offer, they are debating with one another in a way that can get rather heated (though loving) - Sungaia is one of the very few Ichgor Lamina allows into her safe space by the creek.
A grounding friend. Originally met on a duo - outing alongside Omdra and her caravan, Vakker'a put up with Kali's standoffish attitude throughout the task, but later confronted her about it -- and since that night, she's had nothing but growing respect for him. It was not the last mission they would tackle together, and to this day they are a rather unstoppable duo if enlisted alongside one - another.
Be aware when seeing these two cousins together- something about Vakker'a awakens the most rowdiest energy from Darlo'en. When Vakki was just a baby, little Darlo gave him the softest head-bump but now the cute little gesture has quickly grown to loud clanks of their skulls as they headbutt each other like unruly rams.
Darlo absolutely adores his little cousin though, he thinks his skills in fighting and using his Halo is exemplary! He's definitely learned a thing or two from getting his soft behind knocked down more than a couple of times over the years of their spars.
"How'd we meet? Well, she whooped my ass."
Vakker'a a Husniya met on opposite sides of an ages-long issue; water collection. Vakker'a was posted to protect it from wildlife, intruders, thieves and the like, to make sure there was enough to go around. Wouldn't you know the irony when Hus enlightened him to the truth of the matter; water is scarce and those who really need it aren't getting any without people like her. This of course was after he tried to stop her and got a solid ass kicking for doing so.
From then on, they've gotten to know each other a bit better and Vakki uses any excuse to learn something new from her.
As a fellow traveler, Vakker'a will find any reason he can to bug Aris into sharing her most recent knowledge and finds when they meet. Having gotten to know her through working with Pei, he has nothing but good things to say about her. Plus all her little critters are so cute!
One of the NICEST vendors he's ever met.
They first met shortly after Vakker'a lost his closest friend. Down on his worst day, she offered him a warm meal and fresh fruit, and let him take the time he needed to clear his head. As thanks, Vakker'a will often bring fruit seeds or spices to Muyrmari from his travels, paying back the kindness she showed him that day.
Peithux is the person that brought Vakker'a into the guard system after seeing how adept they were at their craft. This, in his mind, was always a great call. seeing what he brings into the spaces hes in and how he melded into the culture of the guards so quickly. Now they get along well, he welcomes him in his abode like he would any friend and makes sure to be there when he needs it. Everyone has their baggage, especially people like them, he suspects Vakker'a simply... needs some time.
Peko was, and still occasionally is, one of Akasi’s first ever patients. His consistent injury led to many sessions for the doctor to practice their craft when she relocated towards the center of Azvirahn territory. It solidified her desire to lock into the occupation, their nurturing nature content in keeping their friends safe in whatever ways they could. This extended to families in need, too, and Akasi still holds a soft spot for the other ichgor —— providing their services time &&. time again, for as long as Peko is still getting hurt. Which… is often. DAAAAMN!!
When Peko heard an egg had hatched in the Drunken Dragon, he raced there to see the kid and his heart was overcome with joy and warmth. The place had given him a little brother, and he absolutely swore that nothing would ever harm a single feather on his head.
He started taking his scouting duties more seriously after that, promising a safe place and rich resources, even if it meant throwing himself at yet another Zyromyr in the process.
He's open with Turron, and holds his opinion in high regard, seeing as he turned into a much more sensible adult than Peko did.
The first and only person to teach Yuko how to love herself. After the death of her sister, and how broken she was, Asaka helped her learn to love again through self expression. Each piercing holds deep meaning and represents an individual who holds a place in her heart.
Yuko's memory comes with something reminiscent of melancholy, saddened at the ichgor's exilement and the relationship the pair could have built. They had always enjoyed Yuko's company whilst piercing her, appreciative that they could offer her a form of self-expression. Asaka regularly sends letters to the Sentinel, however, and occasionally sends gifts alongside the parchment; typically in the form of carved jewelry for her.
Zhankyr is one of very few people who saw how close Aer'Maetlin and Yuko used to be. Their intimacy toed the line of bodyguard and family, as Yuko used Mae to cope with the loss of her sister. As they grew apart and Mae changed, Zhankyr watched it rip Yuko apart first hand.
Zhankyr knew Yuko intimately before her exile due to his closeness with Aer'Maetlin and their shared connections to the Black Vipers. He admired the bodyguard's dedication to her work and spoke to her frequently during his visits to Maetlin. Zhan had also seen her a few times with the Black Vipers, on the few occasions he worked with them as the Blood Diamond. When he'd gotten word of her death sentence, they were extremely panicked and attended the trial, hoping for a miracle. The negotiation of her exile came as a great relief to him, and he still sends letters to Yuko when he is able.
She deeply appreciates Akasi's care for her parents, thankful that someone can be with them when she cannot.
Akasi treats Yuko’s parents frequently, and is unafraid to send letters to her in regards to their well-being —— family is family, and they would rather see them as united as possible despite the occurrences.
