Notes about my OCs world

Posted 1 year, 11 months ago by Jicket

•this is another planet, not an alternate universe of earth. No planet name yet.

•eating meat isn't a concept in their planet, everything they consume is plant based or water. No animal products are consumed other than food from parents [breast milk, egg yolk, etc.]. Eating another anthropomorphic animal would be considered cannibalism regardless of species. Eating a non anthropomorphic animal still wouldn't happen.

•none of my OCs have specific real life species, but theyre usually based on real animals or combinations of real animals.

•everything about their appearance is entirely based on genetics, I've partially explained this in my other bulletin. Blood/internals and skin colours mean nothing, the colour just comes from genetics same as anything else like eyes, fur/hair, scales, feathers. Any of my OCs can have a mix match of completely different features. Another thing I haven't mentioned is that weather or not they have actual hair [including feather "hair"] is also genetic, its not just longer fur/feathers its an actual growth pattern of seperate hair. If they were to cut it to the same length as the surrounding fur there would be a visible pattern weather that be colour or texture. Some of my OCs have a few beard stubble hairs, think of that as similar to whiskers in terms of coarseness and appearance, and of course actual whiskers are the same as real whiskers.

•biologically, females have nipples but males don't. In regards to being transgender, the technology they have allows them to basically have identical biological to a cisgender person if they choose to. There would be no biological difference between a cisgender and transgender person if they decided to change everything. No chromosome shit, no visible difference in genitals except for possible scarring [usually covered by hair/fur/feathers anyway].

•fur/hair/scales/feathers will always grow back over scarred skin, even if the follicles are completely removed the fur/hair/scales/feathers will always grow back with no difference. Many of my OCs have scars but they wouldn't be visible unless the skin was exposed. Removal of scales will cause scarring on the skin underneath, hair/fur/feathers come out without damage.

•my OCs won't shed at all unless severe damage has been done to an area of hair/fur/scale/feather. Examples- if feathers were clipped, scales were damaged, if fur/hair was burnt, etc.

USE THE FOLDERS!!

Posted 2 years, 2 months ago by Jicket

All of my ORIGINAL CHARACTERS are in their own folder, the other designs don't fit into the same universe because they're made for a specific purpose (gore, sonas, personifications of pets) and i do not want those designs intertwined in the unsorted folder. The folders also show the correct way they're supposed to be shown, please use them

If you plan on drawing my OCs , please check the other bulletin, it's important

Drawing my OCS

Posted 2 years, 11 months ago by Jicket

Here's some notes for when you're drawing my characters, a lot of these are really common mistakes when people draw them, although some of them are just notes. Please avoid these mistakes, it bothers me when people draw my characters differently then they actually look just because they didn't understand something and didn't ask. If someone makes these mistakes I dont say anything because it feels rude, but hopefully this will clear up misconceptions and avoid that.

•the small lines and details on the noses, shoulders, elbows, knees, hair/feathers/scales, horns/claws etc. are not part of the designs, it's just a stylistic choice.

•"noodle limbs" and X shaped bellybuttons are not part of the designs, it's just a stylistic choice. They do have normal anatomy outside of my artstyle.

•the usual lack of space between their eyes and lack of forehead is not a part of their designs, it's just a stylistic choice.

•all of the different eye shapes i use are part of their designs, but its just stylistic, if you have a more normal looking eye style you can still try to mimic these shapes, but its optional. The iris/pupil shapes are part of their designs and not optional.

•eyebrow shapes are part of their designs, black shiny eyelids are just a stylistic choice.

•all heights listed are up to the top of the head (the heights do not include ears, hair or horns) and start at the point the character stands on. If the character is not flat footed just assume the measurement starts from directly down from where the ankle joins to the foot (plantigrade)/where the toes touch the ground (digitigrade).

•all of my OCs have different coloured skin, blood and internals, please do not draw them with pink/red blush, mouths, ears, noses, pawpads etc. as a default, just ask if those colours are not included in any references. Pitch black inner-mouths are fine if that's a stylistic choice of yours.

•all of my OCs have different anatomical features, such as some having digitigrade legs and some having plantigrade legs, some having paws/pawpads, hooves or claws/nails, some having whiskers, some having pointed teeth and some having flat teeth, some having different finger and toe arrangements, some having furless noses, some having furless inner ears, some having different shaped pupils/missing pupils. Etc, etc. This is not stylistic, it's part of their designs.

•all of my OCs have four digits on each hand/foot by default, this is part of their designs but I dont mind if theyre drawn with the accurate amount of digits that the species they're based on actually has/five digits for more humanoid hands/feet. Drawing four digits did start as a stylistic choice for me but then I kept with it as a biological thing for my characters.

•most of my characters have their claws shaped more like fingernails, this is part of their designs but mostly stylistic so I dont mind if theyre drawn like normal claws. But some may have claws/hooves as their whole digits rather than just the nails. When they're like that, and the digits are long enough to be jointed, they generally have a leathery skin between each joint on the digits which allow them to move like normal flexible digits, but this isn't visible. So dont worry about trying to make whole-digit hooves and claws look stiff. All of my OCs have claws/nails, if I always draw their claws/nails out always it means they're not retractable, if they are retractable they're usually hidden.

↓next note is about genitals, but its not sexual↓

•Just mentioning this because a lot of other people's furry characters just have no nipples/animal nipples and just fluff in place of their crotch. All of my anthropomorphic characters do have humanoid genitals, so dont draw them without clothes if you're not drawing the genitals, which you shouldn't be anyway ',:-/. Males do not have nipples, but females do, this is part of their biology, not a stylistic choice. There is five characters that aren't anthropomorphic, they just have cloacas, which aren't visible, so they dont have/need clothes.

I will add more to this list if I think of anything.
