Which couple is your favorite?
Posting this for art trade/commission purposes )) I think it'd be swell to get couple art but my couples tend to be somewhat Complicated lolsob
They're ordered by my preference for receiving art of them, but I'd love any~
Their names may be simple, but I love them haha Cat is a spoiled princess, and Wolf enjoys doting on her. He's also very touchy and affectionate, and more than a touch clingy and possessive, but Cat feels like she needs it cos she's got problems with self esteem and depression. Wolf is like a ray of sun to her, and it turns her soft and sweet, though she can still tend to be selfish. Wolf likes being depended on, and it encourages him to be strong enough for the two of them. It's the kind of give-and-take relationship where they both make each other better people ))
100% canon boyfriends the whole dang story, but it's a messy relationship. Gameo is possessive, clingy and needy, but Satordi relishes in feeling needed, loved and adored. Think of a thirsty man in the desert desperately clinging to his only source of water because he has no idea how he'd go on without it...that's both of them. They can be comfortable and sweet with each other too, but that's the nature of how things are between them.
Endgame canon boyfriends. Which is to say, Kayne spends the whole story being friendly and intimate and obvious with Anan, who unfortunately is of a "I like you but please give me space" mindset because he is oblivious and does not have relationships on his mind. Until he figures things out near the end and reciprocates Kayne's feelings. Anan is gruff and somewhat unused to physical intimacy, but Kayne is affectionate enough to make up for it in spades.
Not a canon couple, but Lal does canonically have a crush on him. So Lal always acts sweet towards him and tries to stay physically close when she can, while Yesac doesn't really discourage or dissuade her behavior. He sees their relationship more like close friends and enjoys her company. Yesac can tell she likes him, but since she never asks/says anything about it, he doesn't have to verbally turn her down and sour things between them.
Actually absolutely not a romantic couple. They share a sort of brotherly love, where Dunne likes to take care of Sheneb and Sheneb enjoys being doted on. They share a deep physical (but platonic) intimacy with each other because they're very comfortable in each other's presence. Think of it like "they're so close they could be mistaken for a couple," but they're not really one, so no smooches please.
Prince is a bit young to be in a romantic relationship with anyone but admires Plus a lot and likes to be by his side. Prince is pretty physical with people in general, but it shows with Plus in a very affectionate way. Plus, for his part, is very indulging and always takes good care of Prince. There can be romantic undertones, but they're not an actual couple.
Honestly due to the mutable nature of this story no pairing is canon but I'm fond of the idea of this one. Plus can be pretty abrasive but Data is attracted to the side of him that Plus hides behind his smile. Data is bad at expressing himself though, so he acts bashful and grumpy around Plus instead. Plus is pretty perceptive so he teases Data. Without knowing it, Data has helped Plus in his own way, and Plus wishes they could be closer but can't because of their situation. So there are somewhat melancholic undertones, even though it looks playful on the surface.
Wow keeping light on spoilers, Dunne goes through a rough time and Nolche is able to support him without seeming to impose or forcing him to recover, which makes them grow closer. They're both frontliners, so they face a lot of shit together and have to depend on each other often. Dunne was previously in an abusive relationship so Nolche's steadfast compliance with people's wishes makes him feel safe, while Dunne's continuous refusal to take advantage of Nolche's compliance has gained his trust. I guess you could say they're more physically intimate than emotionally, but that's due more to their personal issues than how they treat each other.
100% canon, they love each other very much and have for a long time, they're just this far down because they're not main characters ;; Actually my most basic and straightforward couple lol They're comfortable and close with each other, though Dayna is the sweeter and more open of the two. Also they're adults in a healthy physical relationship, so they've got that going for them haha
0% canon!! Should be obvious from the first two entries on this list lmao I've loved them and shipped them for years, but it's incredibly AU. Anan supports Satordi when he escapes from his smothering relationship with Gameo. Well, emotionally supports but also lets Satordi hide in his older brother's old room, so they're living under the same roof. They confide in each other the things they've been hiding from most people and grow closer, resolving to enjoy their time together even though they recognize that they'll both be dying soon (for different reasons). Basically they are very sweet and comfortable with each other, and it eventually evolves into a physically intimate relationship. It's probably the best relationship either of them could ask for, but results in killing off half of the main cast so I could never do it lmao
Alternatively, their canon relationship is that they're friendly and competitive, but also sympathetic to each other and confide in each other quite a bit. They're just friends, though.
Another not-quite-canon one...they start out incredibly belligerent towards each other, but grow the closest of anyone in the main cast. By the end they trust and depend on each other, and afterward they're close friends who hang out a lot. But I love shipping my characters, so it's fun to imagine a scenario where they're in a relationship. Aside from their normal back-and-forth banter, Levin has the strength to play into Rosalyn's masochistic tendencies but the desire to take care of her instead, while Rosalyn has the playfulness to join in his antics without treating him like he's being childish. She's the older and more experienced one, so she'd be taking the lead in any adult aspects of their relationship.
Also not canon, but it was actually the original ship that the team and story were structured around. Basically they've both been telling each other really big lies about themselves. Yesac believes Nolche and wants to be close to him because he thinks they share similar past struggles even though Yesac won't divulge his. Nolche however knows that Yesac is lying and tries to keep his distance, but can't rebuff Yesac too much without revealing that he himself was lying from the beginning. So picture a relationship where Yesac is friendly but a bit forceful while Nolche is accepting but not engaging. What a mess.

Just for fun! I've been keeping track of the stats on my phone for a while, and I uploaded some missing images to th today so I could properly keep track of the numbers here instead of across a few sites haha
Interesting to note how Marie has always been the uncontested queen of rankings, and how even though technically more than half of the combined points come from my own art, how little my own ranking effects the combined ones. Part of that is because aside from Marie (all hail the queen), there's actually not too much difference between how much art I make of everyone (note the lack of gaps and how many ranks are shared)
