Hi!!! I'm Lisa! I often go by my nickname Lizurps:) I'm officially german because I was born in Hamburg, but I grew up in Chicago where I did most of my elementary school. I moved to the Netherlands when I was 12 and have lived here since! I speak all three languages fluently. I'm currently working on getting my masters in Biology at Wageningen University and Research. I'm specialized in biosystematics, population genetics, and adaptation and development. Besides doing commissions, I earn a bit of money by giving piano lessons in the evenings.
I obviously love horses but I am generally interested in animals, especially invertebrates. Terrestrial inverts have been a special interest of mine since I learned to speak but aquatic invertebrates are 100 times weirder and have really grown on me over the past years. In the end, I'm generally interested in all animals: from mammals, to fish, to reptiles and birds, to amphibians, and to invertebrates. Any creature brings me joy. I spend a lot of time in nature flipping logs, scanning the branches for birds, peering into streams, and searching every leaf and stick for a bugs, usually together with my biologist boyfriend who shares all these interests. We also regularly go to zoos. We wanna see them all. It's great that its possible to support conservation and admire the wonderful things that live on this planet in one go, and its incredibly fun to keep track of all the animals and breeding programs and enclosure developments.

My pets
Totoro
My first chinchilla who I usually call "Toads". He was born on july 28th, 2022 and has lived with me since febuary 6th, 2023. He's a standard gray with smallish ears. He is energetic and excited to learn tricks for treats. He loves to escape and comes running when he senses that the door to my room will be opened so he can explore the area under the sink and washing machine where I cannot reach him. He's Theodore's father.
Jeffrey
I got jeffrey as a freind for Totoro on April 14th, 2023. It wasn't easy to find a single chinchilla as they are usually sold in pairs but she was practically given to me by her previous owner because she was severly depressed and dying because she lost her friend. She recovered after meeting Totoro who was her friend for the rest of her life. Her previous owner did not know her exact age but said she was probably old and also told me she was a male. I was incredibly surprised when I discovered Theodore, thier son, in their nest one morning. Jeffrey lived a few more calm, slow years before I had to make the hard decision to let her go due to severely declining health on march 19th, 2026.
Theodore
Theodore was born as a surprise baby on october 14th, 2023. He's intellegent and unstoppable, getting into every corner he knows he is not allowed. he likes to chew holes in my clothing and is very fast and hyperactive. He's definetly the smartest of the family but thus the most challenging to take care of. He loves sandbaths and sleeps in a bowl of wood flakes if he isn't cuddling with Totoro (or, in the past, Jeff).
Apollo
Apollo is my boyfriend's bearded dragon. He's hilarious to me. He's very lazy and sits in the same spot all day with his limbs at weird angles but gets activated as soon as he thinks food is at play. He goes mental for insects but refuses to eat anything green unless it's moving so we have to shake his veggies under his nose until he takes it. He runs up against the glass of his terrarium as if he wants to come out but changes his mind real quick when you open it and just sits at the edge looking out stupidly. He's extremely chill. You can do anything you want with him and he accepts it all.
