I'm curious why some of the designs I sent got declined? Like the three anthro dogs i designed myself, I put a lot of effort into those so I'm unsure why they were declined since theyre decent quality? (At least I thought they were) And not sure on the others that were declined either, I'd like to know what was wrong with them if its alright, just so I know for the future!

Some were doll makers, others were simple bases designs, some were just headshots and not a fullbody, some were just sketches or weren't colored in. I think thats it?
I think the designs you made I passed up was due to repeat pose. But if you want me to relook or get a different verdict I can ask the other admin maybe?
I think if we do accept them, I might hide them until I put art on them if thats okay with you.

Ok I may add some sort of art for the ones I made and then resend them! I did reuse the same sketch for each of them which is why the pose is the same on them! Also I wasnt sure with the dollmaker ones since they had extra art I wasnt sure if it was ok, and some I may just not have know were dollmakers lol, thank you for clarifying so I know what passes in the future should I send more designs!^^ I may give some of the declined ones away on the freebie bin or keep them, but thanks for helping to give some of these babes homes! Some I've had sitting for years and have been needing to let go

(I love the whole design shelter idea, and I think it's great that you've done this in a way people really have to work for the characters! Subbed to see how this goes <3)
If I'm doing sketch pages for art, would a page of 5 sketches count as 2 tallies, or 10? (I can crop them into individual drawings, it's just easier to send them as big sheets!)
Additionally, if we are saving tallies for a character, should we avoid doing art of that character for the tallies, or is art of just any character fine?

Hello there, is there a way you qualify/judge designs as being "mq/hq", or do you more lean towards the donator having their best judgement in the character fitting either terms? Just curious cause what fits the term of "MQ/HQ" usually varies from person to person ^^

Its sorta a tricky system truth be told. We just mean the amount of effort thats put into an design! I dont like using the terms of quality but we want to search out designs that arent bucket filled, bases, ect ect. Bases there are some exceptions it just depends how much you go all out! (We do accept picrews/gaias/dress up games too ONLY if they come with a lot of art!)
I hope im making sense! I know for some people these things will mean differently and in no way am I trying to put down artists! Browsing the other shelter I noticed a lot of repeats in designs (Like bucket filled green horse over and over) and what not and a lot of bases that were just filled. We wanted to focus on designs that you can tell the person put a lot of love into it and not something put together in less than 3 minutes (Unless your really talented at making high quality designs that fast than wow!!!)!
I guess another way to put it is lets say, how you feel it's value is. If you would spend 5$+ on it just by the design on it's own, than it has to be of decent quality to wanting to spend that much on at least a MQ design yeah? But for some of the stuff thats considered "low" you'd want to only pay 100~400 DA points at most.
And of course this isn't true for everyone! Some people undersell themselves unfortunately so a few good quality designs will slip through that crack. Same can be said about the opposite.
