I get asked this a lot. I actually did the math on this.

It was in 1608 that Alderik stopped cutting his hair. At that point, his hair was kept trimmed as close to his scalp as possible, and was very short. As of 2016, it had been 408 years since he'd cut his hair.

Hair grows at a rate of about 1.25cm a month, or 15cm a year. After 408 years, his hair would be about 61.2m long, or about 200 feet, about 30x his height of 200cm/6'6". This is how long it'd be if he kept it down, which he rarely, rarely does.

A set of workers from the church help him shorten it by braiding regularly.

Bonus: Hair shortens about 6% every time it's braided. In order to shorten it to knee length, his hair knees to be braided, then the braids braided again, 58 times. But, he usually stops at 44 times, which makes it about double his height, and just makes Geno or someone else carry it so it won't drag on the floor.

Based on the average weight of hair, his hair weighs about 13.5kg/30 pounds. Good thing he's a vampire, and a strong one at that.
