Species name: No known name as of 04/13 { Unidentified X }

Lore: At the time of pirate raids and eploration of the Seven Seas, sailors used to bring home stories of their various expeditions. They were tales of impossible creatures that pique the interest of our ever creative imagination. There was one specific story that they brought home to their children, a story that was the talk of the town; The legend of the oceans own Sea Unicorn.

There were reportrd sightings of an ethereal creature in the middle of their expeditions. As the myth is passed along from one ear to the next, the appearance of the creature varied but they are commonly described as a creature with a tall protruding horn, long rabbit like ears with glowing eyes and a body of a fish. Sailors sometimes mistook them as sirens or sea dragons from the orient. However, they always kept their distance.

They are also described as beasts by some. A supposed aggressive being with sharp horns that on rare occassions are two or more and cold eyes. They often surface during a stormy night and sailors used to wet themselves to sleep, anticipating for their timely deaths from the ocean's form of the grim reaper. However, despite this they will never encounter any grave threat and instead gain fortune after crossing paths with the sea monster may it be through gold, achieving their goal, or simply havig a safe journey home. The "Sea Unicorn" has then become a symbol of good fortune and safety by sea men and pirates.

As time flies forward, sightings became less and stories became old. The myth of the sea unicorn slowly died; never to be ressurrected. The evolution of science turned the minds of man into brains of logic and reasoning and the lack of evidence shattered their beliefs of ever finding one or believing that they have truly existed in the first place. The myth turned into a drunken sailors tale instead.

However, advancements in technologies made it possible in discovering evidence of the creatures existence and that they are a living legend. Researchers studying the depths of the ocean, the deepest and darkest of the world's mysteries, found proof that they do exist. They are now calling for young brave souls to help them in their studies in order to uncover the secrets of the living beas. Are you up for the challenge?

Species Description: Unidentified X is an alien lifeform that has made it's home in the deep parts of the ocean or in dark places, a good alternative for them are underwater caves and crevices. They are highly sensitive to daylight due to the lack of adaptation to protect themselves from UV rays. They prefer and are more active in the dark or at night when there are less UV rays involved. Like other nocturnal animals, they come up to the surface of the ocean at night to feed and communicate/socialize.

Unidentified X is not known to have a regular sleeping schedule like most animals of the earth and depends most of the time awake in the deep blue. At most, they only hibernate in a coma like state that ranges from a few days to a couple of years. They have a larger stamina and can do more activites compared to their neighbors.

Their diet consists mostly of small crustaceans and plankton but they are also known to eat bigger and dangerous sea life like sharks, deep sea fishes, whales and dolphins in times of emergency. They also feast on jellyfish and salt. Seaweeds and other aquatic plant life can cause illness if taken at large doses. Unidentified X cannot digest squids and other molluscs.

Unidentified X is a highly intelligent lifeform being able to comprehend and creatively understand new concelts and complex speech. They can properly communicate via telepathy as well as mimicry. Unidentified X is capable of human speech if tought well. Socialization is generally a big importance for them and are very fond of companionship. They group together in big groups as it ensures their survival. If left alone they can be highly destructive either to the self or to other lifeforms. Rogues are uncommon and depending on their situation, can be very hostile.

There are two kinds of rogues, those who are friendlier than the normal group (those who stick to the group) and those who are much more hostile. Studies show that friendlier rogues still stick in groups of other species compared to their own (e.g. dolphins, whales, etc.) And adapt quicklier to the off species group compared to the standard ones. The more hostile ones are isolated and often seen roaming without a permanent route in terms of migration.
