Posted 5 years, 11 months ago by NyhmerCove

Please Regard the Following Information

  • If you Recently Received a Nyhmer via Trade/Sale/Gift
  • If you notice Any Information in the Database that is Incorrect
  • If you Traded/Resold or Gifted a Nyhmer

PLEASE INFORM ONE OF THE FOLLOWING ACCOUNTS

  1.  Nyhmer Cove
  2. CreamofDespair
  3. Cream DA

This is to help prevent theft and to keep Lexadoptables informed of where her creations end up as well as help prevent any possible knock offs.

Why am I noting CreamofDespair? They don't own the species.

I am more available than Lexa who is busy making her creations and doing what she does best. I do not claim any ownership of the Nyhmer species; however I am able to answer most questions regarding it. If you are concerned though and wish to speak directly to Lexa, please do so.

When Uploading a Nyhmer please feel free to link credits here for her directory OR directly to Lexa's DA. She does not have a Toyhouse at this time.

Thank you all for your time! Please contact for any additional Questions/Concerns via note or comment.

About Nyhmers

It's a closed species. That means you're not allowed to make one of your own!

The  main characteristic is that they have a membrane which wraps around the  legs when in water (See Below). On land it wraps around itself to create a tail.

The texture of the membrane resembles flower petals only much stronger.

While on land the end of the tail and fins fold around themselves to create flower shapes.

The fins act like carnivorous plants by emanating a sweet smell and attracting bugs which they eat, in water they feed on plankton.

They can live for a long time out of water. However they don't like to wander too far from the sea.

Most Nyhmers have very colorful tails & bodies but there are exceptions.

There are a few Nyhmers that also have wings. They're considered royalty.

Nyhmer Subspecies

Ordinary Nyhmers

-colorful
-have wings tattooed on their backs

Abyssal Nyhmers
-can sink to huge depths
-sees well in the dark
-usually on land, they wear glasses because of bad eye-sight
-very luminous (marks, fins, eyes)

Volcanic Nyhmers
-desaturated skin tones
-bright, hot colors hair and eyes
-love to sunbathe

Icy Nyhmers
-can survive in very cold temperature
-white and pastel colors
-membrane covers more body

Predatory Nyhmers
-man-eaters
-cat-like eyes
-have evolved to hunt bigger prey
-wear weapons/jewelry made with shark teeth
-most have beautiful voices
-seashell-like tails with harder textures

Royal Nyhmers
-has wings, can fly
-more membranes, more details
-can have characteristics of the all other races

Colorless Nyhmers
-There are two kinds: one with melanism and other one with albinism.
-They usually have a single, desaturated, very subtle color hue: Grooms - cold color and Brides - warm color.
-Like Royals they can have traits of any other sub-species.
-Unlike Royals they're considered bad luck and rejected by other Nyhmers.
-They tend to mate with each other, that's why they're called Brides (whites) and Grooms (blacks).
-Color is not related to gender (there can be male brides as well as female grooms).
-Their  skin is too sensitive for colorful tattoos, so they like to wear  colorful clothes, jewelry or makeup to compensate for their lack of  color.

Here are some rough sketches to show how "they work".
