Altus finds himself unsure of how to properly interact with his foal, not by any fault of Empyros, but due to his own estranged relationship with his own father and his upbringing. Still, he finds Empyros' interest in him and his studies to be quite endearing, and humors the little lad whenever he can.
Though Empyros worries he may be a bit too outspoken or forward, he cherishes the time he spends with Altus and is inspired to be as bold and brave the older stallion. Where he lacks magic, he makes up for in ferocity and dedication in hopes to earn Altus' approval.
Empyros is everything to Horizons once he is born and she would do anything for her sweet, sparkling boy. He balances her quiet personality and the two share long talks about all the things in the world in hushed whispers and loud squeaks.
A delightful surprise to Horizons when first conceived, Empyros is the perfect son she never thought she would have. A more lively counterpart to his ghostly mother he is still her adoring shadow. The two are near inseparable and share a deep bond.
One of the prettiest ponies he's ever seen. He has a bit of a complex being an earth pony in Canterlot and seeing how graceful Lulu makes him feel even more of a doof. The only thing he really has going for him is maybe his height, but Lulu makes him feel awkward, gangly and maybe a little sweaty. He'd love to take her on a date but is WAY too self deprecating to ask. She deserves a lot better then him.
Only knows Lulu in passing. She's met her once or twice through Forest Lullaby but thinks she seems nice enough. Appreciates that she isn't mean and a tool like most of Sam's friends. She encourages him to see her.
A business acquaintance to begin with, Bancha buys ingredients for her Sleepy blends from Forest. She loves the quality of the forest herbs that just can't be managed so close to Canterlot.
