I pride myself in expanding my stories out into places I don't have much experience in. Because of this, I often do as much research as possible into the subject to ensure I'm portraying trauma and experiences delicately and accurately. If anything I write is inaccurate, I'm more than happy to listen and learn from someone who knows more about the subject than I do.

When looking through my characters, I will put as many warnings as I can before their folders and backstories to ensure the comfort of those viewing them.
