[ Friendly ] "I remember having to baby sit Joy and Confidence with Fre-Wrath when we were younger and their parents went on raids. So energetic, both of them, and my, they always tried to out-do one another. You take your eyes off of them for one moment and they're gone," Aneska suppresses a laugh.
Joy knows Aneska through her sister Freyda, and watched as she was taken along with Freyda, Sumarlið, and Ivar and her twin brother, never to be seen again. Joy is friends with Aneska's younger siblings.
[ Friendly ] "Joy's the littlest tiefling sister, right? I think she's the one who bit me after I tried to take her outta the mud." Iggy grumbles. "Little shit was in so much trouble with her mother when evening hit."
Joy doesn't really remember Ivar other than him being friends with Freyda, just like Sumarlið, believes him to be dead.
Joy barely remembers Sumarlið, having been 9 when he was taken along with her sister Freyda. Though, she is friends with his sibling [???] and have been best friends for the next few years. Joy believes Sumarlið to be dead along with her sister Freyda.
[ Friendly ] "I don't remember much about Joy, other than her being a bright bundle of energy. I cannot assume the same for her nowadays-- I do hope she's still alive, along with the rest of Wrath's family. I cannot imagine the pain that would be felt if they were all gone... She might have been reckless, but there was some intelligence behind those mismatched eyes, even at such a young age."
Joy thinks her mother is the most gorgeous being on the face of the planet. She had yet to be proven wrong, and could only dream of enveloping the elegance, grace and dignity that her mother portrays every day. Though Joy acts more like her father, and is a bit reckless, occasionally she can pull herself together enough to make a decent public appearance, even if Tieflings are normally despised. After running away with Confidence, they manage a letter whenever it was safe to send one so their parents knew they were safe, always signed, "With love, Joy & Confidence"
[ Family ] Serenity can see the look in her little one's eyes when they look up to her. Joy views her mother like she's a star in the sky, and the same can be said for how she sees her daughters. Yes, Joy and Confidence were always a handful, but hearing them laugh always brought a smile to her face. She's retired with her husband to a small farm in the Western Roman Empire, and adores seeing the letters her daughters send her. When she's able, she writes letters of her own to them,-- and Freyda,-- even if she can't send them. When Joy and Confidence return home once more, she'll give them all the letters addressed to them.
Joy respects her father like no other, knowing the man had sacrificed his own horns to save her mother's beautiful duel set of horns. Joy knows the man would go through hell on earth to keep his family safe, and knows that he feels a deep regret and guilt that his oldest daughter was taken from their family. Joy worked hard with her father to keep the farm he'd earned working, especially when he's called away to serve the empire once again. That was until she managed to run away with Confidence, making sure to send home a letter whenever it was safe to let their parents know that THEY were safe. Always signed, "With love, Joy & Confidence"
[ Family ] Just because Action can't speak doesn't mean he doesn't show how much he loves his children. There is no doubt he loves all his daughters the same, but he may show a big of favoritism to his youngest for how closely she clings to him. After being able to settle down again after the gladiatorial pits, he cannot wait for his daughters letters signed with both of their names. He keeps them all collected in an old oak box from when they still lived in the north, and puts them in order by dates.
[ Family ] Pushes her. "NERRRRD." Confidence doesn't know where she would be in the world without her younger sister at her side. After Freyda was taken away, they tended to cling to each other, even with all the play fighting and teasing. Joy may think that she's only learning from Confidence, but Confidence learns something new from Joy most every day. Confidence thinks Joy needs to start thinking for herself more,-- there is no reason to be like Confidence when Joy as a person is so vibrant.
"Not a nerd!"
Joy adores her sister and, being the youngest of the family, tries to be just like her older sister. This of course led to the scar that is now on Joy's left eyebrow, as she had tried to pierce her brow, and ended up getting it ripped out while swimming the next day. Confidence still teases Joy to this day about it, saying how the younger could never be as cool as her. Joy of course retaliates by calling her names, which usually results in a typical sibling fight with words. Confidence always wins. Joy always pouts. They're good again by supper time. Currently, Joy and Confidence are on the road, having run away from the farm and empire to look for their long lost sister, even though they believe she's dead...deep inside them both, they have a feeling she's out there, and they want that closure. So they search.
[ Family ] Wrath hasn't seen Joy in a number of years, and doesn't know what has become of her sister. While she travels, she hopes that her family is okay, and hasn't been killed. She still has the bracelets they all made as children, and while she doesn't usually wear them, she keeps them in her bag where they won't get messed up. If she wasn't on the run, she'd be looking for her family, but for now, she sews and weaves a old tapestry she found-- adding in a few new figures that weren't there originally.
Joy loves her sister and misses her very much. Thinks that Freyda (Wrath) is dead after going to try to find her with her other sister Confidence. Joy writes a letter to Freyda weekly to re-cap about the week, then when finished, seals the letter and tucks it away with years worth of letters in a bag. Dated and signed. She dare not let them go, finding the deed therapeutic and it helps her remember her sister. Among the letters are some drawings that Joy had done as a child before her sister was taken. If something ever happened to those memories. Joy would be broken.
