General rules regarding my toyhouse codes:
You may:
- Customize to your liking (including but not limited to colors, formatting, and so on)
- Frankenstein
- Reference / take inspiration
- Feel free to use any code as a 'guideline' if you are learning. I can't guarantee it'll be a good guideline, but.... go crazy!
You may not:
- Remove credit WHERE APPLICABLE
- I do not believe in requiring credit for things that I believe anyone could do with enough time. Any code in the 'simple' folder is fine to remove credit from if you so desire. It is mostly there out of 'obligation', if you will.
- Taking payment for editing my codes for other people, using them for profit, etc.
- I strive to keep everything as accessible as possible. And free! Please respect that :]
Questions that will inevitably be asked:
Q: Can you help me with [xyz]? I'm having trouble getting this to work! Etc.
A: It depends. I'll entertain debugging if it concerns responsiveness, accessibility, and mobile-friendliness. Anything else I am hesitant to offer assistance for. Part of learning how to program is also learning how to debug things with the resources given to you. Browser tools and IDE's supplement your ability to debug effectively. Please refer to those for errors, alongside documentation.
Q: Can I suggest layouts for future codes?
A: Sure! I can't guarantee I will get to it, but I will entertain suggestions.
Q: Can I use your codes offsite?
A: In short, no. The codes were made with toyhouse in mind and thus other websites may not support them. I do not want my name tacked onto anything that breaks offsite.
Q: Can I use your codes for CS characters?
A: Sure.
Q: How do I learn how to program in HTML and CSS?
A: I know everyone just shoves documentation into people's faces and expects them to learn from that. Which is understandable. But I also think that's bad advice if someone has no clue where to start. There are many other resources you can use outside of documentation to learn how to program, such as the plethora of free courses swimming about the internet. Fundamentals are infinitely more important than copy-pasting your way around things. Learn them first. It will save you time in the long run.
Q: Do I need to sub / fav / comment to use a code?
A: No.
Q: Why is your profile so ugly, despite being a code-loving dookiehead?
A: FUNCTIONALITY! EMBRACE UGLY!
