After Rhaani and Tala’re had loudly expressed their frustration and great disappointment with the clan, the people started looking at each other. Whispers and doubt spread among themselves, unsure of what to think about their own leader and people. They all had refused to take in children orphaned by the war, especially those with ashen or RDA upbringing—and the injustice of it all brought Rhaani and Tala many restless nights. As two women bound together not only as partners but as a deeply devoted couple, they could not live peacefully and keep turning away those poor souls. Their words slowly took root within the clan, and at some point, the people couldn't deny how wrong their actions were anymore, leaving the hungry and sick to fend in the unforgiving front of Pandora. As an act of remorse, the people and leaders of the clan built them a ship of their own. There, Rhaani and Tala’re could begin building a new kind of family, one that would welcome every lost and overlooked child, offering them the love, care, and belonging only they could provide.
