Laughter echoes in her ears, calling to her from the shadows beneath her feet. 

You mustn’t look down,

The raven reminds her, but the laughter does not recede even as she keeps walking.

There’s an overwhelming stench of blood in the air, like iron and rot. It’s thick, suffocating and she can scarcely breathe, but the raven urges her to keep walking, to keep her eyes on the path ahead, to follow the light. 

He can’t find you, it tells her. He knows you’re here, but cannot find you. He wants to scare you. If you give in, he’ll sense you.
