Convinced he would never marry, the demigod was proven wrong the day he met Asi Tolh-rigin. While he was impressed with his fighting ability after the city was attacked by an undead horde of humans and demons, he did not care much for the man's surprisingly bold and flirtatious nature. He plowed through terms such as "Cael-dear" and "Darling" to explain to the newcomer that he had to have some sort of relation to a citizen in order to stay longer than two weeks in order to live within the country inhabited by humans, demons, and gods. If he truly wanted to stay, Caelum suggested wooing some noble with his charms and marrying them. The demigod did not expect his words or the events that had taken place to warp around on him. For helping to defend the city, Asi suggested his reward to be Caelum's hand in marriage. Being the son of the goddess of Justice, Caelum reluctantly agreed, as he was a man whom believed in fairness. If that was the reward Asi wanted, then that was the reward Asi would receive. The only thing Caelum requested was that they would not have their marriage ceremony until the end of the year. Until then, Asi was free to stay in the city and within Caelum's home.
In the beginning, Caelum's stoic and serious nature caused him to despise the person Asi was. While he usually went down to his basement gym to punch out his frustrations, his irritation with Asi grew to the point that he started ranting to his punching bags.
"He's far worse than Adelaide! At least she doesn't talk my ear off! The fool yammers on about nothing. Not only that, but he talks in circles around me, distracting me from the original topic, and more importantly, my work! It's gotten to the point that I have to grab his face and kiss him to get him to shut up! That doesn't help the fact that he's too damn flirty for his own good! He's constantly trying to get me into bed with him and I want to punch that pretty face of his through the wall! He's cunning and manipulative. I think the orst of it all is that Adelaide hates him. She keeps putting random things in his food and drinks, causing him to get sick. That leaves me to take care of the idiot because the maids are too intimidated by him!"
As the year went on, Caelum found himself grow more and more attached to Asi. It was something that both confused and frustrated him. It as an affection that was completely different from what he felt towards his daughter. He was confused and angered by his feelings, so much that he would avoid Asi any chance he got and would spend his night out getting drunk. Without realizing it, he began showing Asi more of who he was. Without realizing it, Caelum started smiling, laughing, and blushing around his soon-to-be husband, something he only did around his adopted demon daughter. His weaknesses and insecurities began to shine through the wall he had built up between them. Soon, Caelum realized that he couldn't live without Asi in his life.
After the disastrous fiasco that was Asi's journey for his brother's cure, he ended up waking up with hazy memories within the Land of the Gods. As he had no idea exactly where he was, Asi's first order of business was to gain information and potentially something akin to status within the foreign land.
What he didn't expect was to be greeted by hordes and hordes of undead demons and humans attacking the city, and bumping into what appeared to be the head of the land. Asi did what came naturally to him-- he fought without restraint.
Using his wits and sly way with words, Asi managed to snag a place in the city as a figure-head (read: the fiance of a powerful political head) in exchange for his services. With that, he had a year to build up his relationships, connections, and networks to answer the question that had been bugging him since his arrival-- who was he?
Soon enough, Asi's flirtatious advances turned out to be something out of genuine emotions rather than manipulative tactics. Slowly, he came to love the Beaumont family as his own, being extremely protective and fiercely loyal to them, and them alone. Since his status as an Alter god had yet to be questioned by the rest of the gods, Asi constantly bends and twists the rules regarding nobility-etiquette plus his abilities to threaten them whenever his family is of concern.
Though the questions from his long past has yet to be answered, Asi lives in blissful content in being the one and only husband and lover to a certain grumpy demi-god.
The two are classmates at the dead end Class-E of Kunugigaoka Gakuen.
