Hi hello! Happy new year! Wishing everyone a great 2024! Here's my overview of last year and my goals for 2024,I'm writing a bulletin so everytime I open Toyhouse I am reminded of the stuff I want to do and not lazily put it in my notes just to never open it again. xD Consider this a personal note for myself more than anything.
2023 overview:
Art-wise,to put it simply,this year was the worst year out of my entire art hobby since I started drawing in mid-2017. Had many art crises,felt disconnected from my characters,the worst art block n art crisis during the entirety of the whole summer,the time I had the time to be most productive,distanced myself from social media only to watch YouTube the entire day,sORRY i have complained about that a bit too much but it genuinely had so much neg impact on me :”D I also didn't write a lot,which legitimately made me forgot how to English,I cannot count how many times I just stared at a sentence for 45 minutes just to leave a mess of nouns and verbs stacked together,and it just made me feel more disconnected to my stories. BUT this year I got a new computer,but at the same time broke my tablet pen,didn't draw much quality art,but animated more,guess I won some,I lost some. Overall I am very excited to just leave this uninspired mess of a mindset behind and just make art that I and hopefully you enjoy,too! <3

Art:
The first thing I want to do is remake my sona's and main characters' references. Been meaning to do this last year but y'know :]
DEFINITELY practice backgrounds,shapes and perspectives more. UGHH It makes me wanna puke from just thinking about it.
Studying character design,mainly to practice making a character more recognizable,unique with more storytelling elements(????)
Relearning shading because I kind of struggle with scenes
Learning more programs!
Animations:
I am a bit unsure,I want to make quality stuff while being quick,but that's nowhere near possible,so the first thing is to not animate entire pmvs,but animate little sprites of my characters,like idle animations in a video game xD
Practicing being consistent with frames,especially keeping frames at a rate where it's not too slow,or too fast to be natural movement,also being a bit patient with coloring.
Storyboarding more,even if it's something I don't plan on finishing.
Writing:
The priority is first reading more and expanding my vocabulary,and also relearning general storytelling. As of right now,I'm starting to read Warrior Cats somewhat consistently again,but ABSOLUTELY feel free to recommend books that a beginner, non-native English speaker can read (I think that just means that I am in the range of books for 8-12 year olds rip).
Coding my characters! Also writing my ideas down more often,I'm forgetting my own lore.
MAYBEEE Write a rough draft for OLGW??? I don't have lots of faith in this one since I don't think I can commit to writing a book yet since i am still inexperienced in writing.Instead I want to focus on learning,but we have 12 months to go,so why not.
