Echo Outpost

Across the sea rests an expansive patch of land not far from the Sand and Mist Continents. Because of it's resemblance to the geology and flora of the two nearby Continents, this land was given the name Mirror.

In a time long past, the Mirror Continent housed pokemon from all over. It was a labor of love to keep the various villages and towns afloat, though a labor all were happy to take part in. One day, however, all traces of these civilizations seemed to disappear, and the entirety of the Mirror Continent itself had become somewhat of a wasteland. Unpredictable weather and environments lead to a lack of stability when it came to setting up any kind of camp, for the unfortunate few that attempted to start a new life there.

Over many, many years, the memory of these villages and towns was lost to time, and the Mirror Continent became solely known for how dangerous it was. Aside from a stray few bandits that would try (and typically fail) to set up bases of operation, and a few feral pokemon that survived through caves and dungeons, the continent was almost entirely uninhabitable. It remained that way for decades, the severity of the weather declining gradually, though the prospect of trying to live there still seemed unappealing.

However, after over a century of the land being unusable, a mysterious and determined duo decided to try their hand at setting up some kind of village. With months worth of supplies and preparation at their side, they managed to reach the center of the continent, and cobble together a small house. The Golurk and Gastrodon were perhaps just incredibly lucky, able to work night and day until the house had become strong enough to withstand any terrible weather. Over time, the two built more buildings together, houses of various shapes and sizes, and before they knew it, they had successfully created their settlement, small as it was.

During their time gathering resources in the nearby forest, the duo stumbled upon remnants of the previous civilizations that had thrived a century prior. It was then and there, they decided to honor all of the fallen through the new name of their settlement: Echo Outpost.

Echo Outpost grew over time, attracting merchants and vagabonds, as well as curious pokemon either looking to settle down, or simply pay a visit. The buildings became a lot more polished, and those who decided to stay in the Outpost grew to love and cherish those around them. The community thrived, and as decades passed, the appointed Sheriffs and Deputies would look after the settlement and its Pokemon dutifully.

The weather does get a little rough from time to time, but the worst of it always seems to miss the village. The locals consider it a "lucky streak" compared to the past, though none seem sure as to why this is the case at all.
