U'phel does his best to help raise N'vett, who was 3 when he became nunh. He views him more as a son than anything and cares deeply for his safety and wellbeing, much to the displeasure of N'vett's mother.
Since the death of his father N'yahm, U'phel is the closest thing that N'vett has to a father figure. His feelings are complicated on the matter, and he feels as though he is pulled every which way by U'phel and his mother who do not particularly get along. He ultimately does care for U'phel, though.

Lanayru appreciates Ben's energy when they are together, and the two seem to only amplify one another's energetic personalities (perhaps much to the chagrin of those with them). Initially greeted by his kindness and hospitality, Lanayru cares very much for him and considers him a very close friend. He initially taught her the basics of playing music, a passion that has lasted with her ever since.
His friend. Met her through Jewel and extended his kindness to her as well. He took to her quickly and was happy to see a new face. Thinks fondly of her and enjoys her positivity. The two get along well and have similar energies. They seem to never run out of things to discuss. The two share a passion for music, Ben greatly enjoys playing and creating songs with her. It's always a good time when Lanayru, Jewel, and Ben are together.
His lover of whom he has 5 children with. He left his old tribe alongside N’mestha and four others to start their own small tribe on the outskirts of Southern Thanalan. He clearly is infatuated with her, and has been from the start.
Her nunh and lover who she is extremely close to and loves deeply. She gave up all familiarities to join him in the rare forming of an outside tribe, showing her strong devotion to him. She is heartbroken and extremely bitter after his death, equally as angry with U’phel as she is her daughter, Lanayru, who had begun a relationship with the stranger.
U’phel understands and respects the hesitation and anger from N’mestha towards him, and does not push her to act differently. He tries to be as kind and respectful to her as possible, typically letting her initiate any non-formal (and rare) conversations as not to strain their relationship any further.
N’mestha’s relationship with U’phel is extremely strained. She was very close with and loved N’yahm, so she feels little but hatred and anger for U’phel. She begrudgingly accepts him as nunh solely for the her immense respect of Seeker of the Sun traditions.
Her younger sister. Alongside N’paghlo, N’zahngo spent much of her formative years with Lanayru caring for her, finding herself taking over a lot of motherly duties. She loved and cared for N’zahngo very much, and it hurt her immensely to leave her alongside the rest of her family. She hopes that one day they will meet again.
Her oldest sister. She is one of the few people who actively defend her name in the tribe, seeming to hold similar opinions to Lanayru about their tribe life.
Her youngest brother. She is not as close to him as the rest of her siblings, as he was only 3 when Lanayru ran away. By this time, she had taken up her role as primary hunter and was often not home. She does still care for him and his safety and is upset with herself that she didn’t get to see him grow up. She hopes that one day they will meet again.
His oldest sister. N’vett does not really remember Lanayru well, and much of his opinion on her is shaped off of word of mouth from his mother, U’phel, the rest of his tribe, and his sister N’zahngo. He does not seem to have a grudge against her, but does empathize with his mother’s feelings on her.
Her brother whom she was the closest with. The two grew up together, Lanayru being six years old when he was born. She viewed him as one of her best friends in the tribe. She is devastated upon learning about his death.
His oldest sister. He would often spend much of his time with her, finding her energy to bring plenty of fun to their home. As they grew older, he grew to respect her more and still cares very deeply for her. After she runs away, he is extremely conflicted with his feelings about her. He defends her name in the coming days after, however, after the calamity hits and the lack of efficient hunters proves to be a problem, he does find himself becoming spiteful. He attempts to take her place as a hunter after his youngest sister, N’paghlo, ultimately starves to death. Without proper training and the dangers that come alongside hunting however, he is killed by his prey.
Her youngest sister. Before she was trusted primarily with hunting for the tribe, Lanayru was often in charge of watching over her younger siblings. This included N’paghlo and N’zahngo. She sees N’paghlo in an almost motherly way, seeing as she spent a good portion of her teen years caring for her as a mother would. She is devastated upon learning of her death.
Her oldest sister. She was 5 when Lanayru ran away. Too young to fully understand the situation, she was mainly just confused as to why her sister left and why everyone seemed so furious with her. She passed away a few months into the calamity when food sources were low and her body simply couldn’t support itself any longer. She does not have any ill will against Lanayru.
Her mother. Before running away she was close with her, always seeking to make her proud. They worked very well together to get things done. She desperately wants to one day reconcile with her, or at least give her a proper goodbye.
Her eldest daughter. Cares for her deeply, but after the death of N’yahm is crushed and feels immensely betrayed by her. This feeling grows more after Lanayru runs away, leaving her tribe with the burden of losing their primary hunter which ultimately claims the lives of two more of her children. She is unsure if she can ever forgive her.
Mutual enjoyers of large dragon man. Finds him extremely fun to chat with, and will gladly do so when given the chance. She thinks he is extremely cool, and quietly envies his beauty and suaveness.
*handshake meme about loving dragon dick*
She feels like she owes a lot to Riz - he is the one who encouraged Jewel to take her in when they found her wounded. She looks up to him a lot, admiring his knowledge. She desperately tries to learn a lot from him. Riz helps to show her the basics of reading and writing, something she was not able to do in her early life. She knows that she can come to him if she needs help or just for good, calm company. She treasures his friendship deeply.
Her best friend. No one can get her energy amplified quite like Jewel - the room is sure to be bustling if they’re side by side. Looks to her for guidance in both emotional settings and when learning new aspects of combat, especially on the healing side of things.
When first arriving in the Black Shroud, Jewel was ultimately the one to take her under her wing and care for her despite Jewel's initial distrust in her. After spending much of their time together, however, Lanayru comes to love Jewel deeply and can't imagine her life without her.
They have a mutual gambling problem.
Her best friend. There's sure to be a party with these two together- one full of laughter and dancing to be exact. Despite her initial distrust in Lanayru, Jewel took her in and gave her a place to stay for a while. Jewel came to love Lanayru and the two are inseparable nowadays. Jewel sees parts of herself in Lanayru and admires how positive she remains despite her hardships. Enjoys a good gambling session with her at the Gold Saucer. She almost treats her like she's her daughter or younger sister, despite being a year younger than her.
Kills him in order to be nunh. Has no personal vendetta against/for him - it's just how Seekers of the Sun operate. He respects him and the tribe he had formed.
Killed by U'phel, succeeded by him as nunh. Doesn't know of his existence before this interaction. He is initially confronted by U’phel in a verbal challenge for the position of nunh. N’yahm refuses, not permitting the challenge to be acted on. As he is escorting him away, U’phel attacks and ultimately kills him while he is not expecting it.
Her ex-lover. Fooled around in secret for quite a while until the death of her father. Despite the fact that she truly did initially love him, the lack of hesitation to kill her father petrified her and solidified in her mind the absolute disdain she held for traditional tribe ruling beliefs. She continues to live in fear of being recognized or encountering him again, ultimately doing so once in Ul’dah while alongside her now husband, Astaroth. Her fear eventually mainly turns to anger, however, acknowledging that U’phel was a coward who only had the upper hand in her father’s death because he had kicked a man who was already down.
She no longer has any romantic attraction to him.
His ex-lover. Feels crossed by her after she runs away, but stays to fulfill his role as nunh regardless. He expected her to return after she initially runs away and waits patiently for her to do so. After the calamity, he assumes her to be dead. After a brief reencounter in Ul’dah, he is furious to see that she was, in fact, alive. He informs her of her siblings, N’tyada and N’paghlo’s, passing at this time, blaming her for their deaths. He clearly has no respect for her at this point, baffled that she would abandon her tribe.
He no longer has any romantic attraction to her.
Her father. Has always been close to him, and respects him a lot despite their disagreements about their society. It seems she got much of her easy going and friendly personality from him. She enjoys the time she spends with him very much.
His daughter. Caring and attentive father compared to larger Miqo'te tribes, often joining her on her early hunts and other training sessions. He is always one to encourage and love her unconditionally, although her urge to break away from his tribe and live outside of them saddens him.
Her husband. Accidentally found immense comfort in his presence after he joined along with her, Jewel, and Riz. She admires him and loves him dearly - it's rare to see her too far from him if they're in the same area. She is very affectionate with him and often has to force herself to back away and give him space.
She is able to read his typically short and gruff responses extremely well, despite struggling with it at first. In spite of their stark personality differences, the two work together extraordinarily well. Lanayru knows that she can depend on him, and she does her best to show that he can rely on her too.
Lanayru loves and cherishes Astaroth more than anything, and would follow him to the edge of the earth so long as she could be by his side.
Wife.
“Mm.. it’s a hard question to answer. But strangers, we were. I can’t recall a specific moment. It just came to be, I found I simply couldn’t do without her after a while.” -Astaroth on when he realized he liked Lanayru. Coincidentally, it is also the longest answer he has ever given.
