Crystal Islets

The Crystal Islets are a string of small islands set in the warm waters of a shallow sunny bay. Each individual island isn't very big, but several of the central ones in the chain are large enough to both support prey animals and the cats who feed on them.
The islands are fairly average and, aside from the feral cat colony that at one point braved the waters, apparently unremarkable, especially from a distance, but amidst the heavy foliage and gently rolling beach dunes lies the origin of their name. Truly giant crystals jutting out from the raw earth, glittering with a trillion sunsets captured deep inside their multifaceted structures.
There are stories of the crystals singing or humming or crying out in a chorus of voices to send adventurers off on wild quests.
The cats who live there don't  know or really care for those stories, they like the crystals because they catch the sun and stay warm long after dark.
