Darkclan lives in an ancient woodland vale, beneath the spreading gray canopy of the aged pines. There is no patch of open ground but every inch of land is covered in detritus, giving home to a variety of tiny prey creatures. It was this aspect that drew the clan to the grounds in the first place.
Darkclan made their home in the deepest park of the vale that stands in a dim twilight during the daylight hours and falls into an abyssal midnight darkness when night comes. It becomes so dark even the cats with the sharpest eyes have difficulty navigating the forest.
The clan made their camp in a patch of old stones jutting up out of the ground which either created natural hollows in the earth for the cats to use, or presented an ideal place for a den to be dug out.
The forest is large and most cats don't leave it within their lifetime or see the sky unobstructed by the trees, but, a little ways south of the camp, there is a small stream that flows into a cave. Surrounding the cave and stream are the tallest and oldest trees in the entire forest. Cats will go there seeking either solitude or traditionally, to grieve a departed loved one.

There are a variety of other animals besides cats in the forest, many of the species are plentiful, but since the forest itself is so dense and filled with so many places to hide, it makes hunting difficult because the prey is difficult to see and life in general dangerous since a predator could be just out of sight, waiting to pounce on any unsuspecting cat.

Mice- Easy to catch and numerous
Squirrels- Difficult to catch, but abundant
Birds- Very difficult to catch due to the thick canopy of tree branches and leaves

Uncommon -

Voles- harder to find, but simple to hunt
Fish- can be found wherever water is
Snakes- many are harmless, but there are some poisonous ones

Rare-
Lizards- only live on the outskirts of the forest but tasty

Predators-

Common-

Foxes- Compete for prey and at the same time will prey on single or small groups of cats

Uncommon-

Owls- Only active at night and usually only go after smaller cats/kits

Rare-
Hawks- Not a danger when beneath the protective trees, but outside of the forest a real danger
Wolves- Don't often bother going after something as small as a cat, but obvious very powerful

The Darkclan camp is one of the most ancient places inhabited by cats in the entire forest. It is a ring of loosely scattered stones. Gray and old and covered in thick moss, they jut out of the ground like ragged old teeth. Some of their bases have been weathered away by time, creating hollows perfect for dens. Others have been dug out by cats when the clan grew.
The leader's den is beneath the largest stone which sits in the center of the ring. The healer's den is a little ways off from the stones, in a small cave dug beneath the roots of a tree, isolated for the privacy of sick or injured cats, quiet for the healer to work, and something of an quarantine. If turns out that a cat has a contagious illness, they are confined to the healer's den.
Aside from the stones, the clan camp is little different from the rest of the forest. The stream runs near by enough to be heard, but not seen, the ground isn't covered as thick detritus since the cats move around so much in that area. Also, since the trees don't grow close to the stones, when the weather is clear the sky can be seen overhead.
