I named um Highway cuz they guide souls to the afterlife (a highway to hell reference basically)
Floor 5 is a massive killing ground due to it's harsh landscape and the powerful demons and fears that reside there. Civilization is few and far between, so many die along their life, earlier than supposed. Floor 9 is limbo, and only 9 and Flonne can see souls, besides the few gifted and the line of guiding trains. Highway is among the line of guiding trains and their job is to make sure souls get there and get there safely. They are a bit clumsy and a bit of a day dreamer but their ambition allows um to always get the job done.
For context, floor travel is only doable by floor guardians, so Highway has to constantly interact with 5 and 9
