Heirs of Vandon

Roland is the only heir of Lord Margrave, head of the Margrave House and one of the most powerful and influential sorcerers in the city of Vandon. Roland feels that he is always in the shadow of his father and their family legacy, and struggles to meet the expectations of a Margrave sorcerer. He also struggles with his forbidden feelings for the handsome Rowan, a prodigy at Margrave’s school of sorcery, who has sworn off relations with anyone, man or woman.

Julian is the son of Lord and Lady Chadwick, the Margraves’ greatest rivals. Julian’s mediocre magical skills mean that he is currently useless to the family, so his parents have decided to marry him off to the beautiful Countess Paiona to secure a political alliance with the Countess’ family.

Both Roland and Julian attend a masquerade, hoping to find some temporary escape from their oppressive circumstances, and their chance meeting pushes them down a path which neither expected, but both desire more than anything else in the world. But there are those that would see them hanged for their desires, and the heirs’ burgeoning relationship becomes a matter of life and death.
