However, this cult's focus on crystals has some basis in their reality, due to demigod gems that litter Taurnar, which do grant unique abilities to those who survive their transformations. 

The ultimate goal of this cult is to harness this power of the "crystals" to "heal" themselves and the rest of the cult.
