Integrate Me

The story of a very lonely scientist who will do anything in the world to have friends, except for talk to people.

Charlotte thought things would be going better by this point in her life, but everything seems to be falling apart at the seams. She's working a job she hates for a boss who hates *her*, she's too socially awkward to talk to people, and the ones she does talk to hate her, she's estranged from her family, and worst of all, she has no energy to focus on her beloved projects because ALL she has to eat is beans and toast and everything SUCKS. Sure, she could buy different foods, but then she'd have no money to spend on her experiments and that is all that's keeping her sane at the moment in this wet grey city.

The main plot consists of the consequences of this new experiment she's cooked up; she'll corner these depressing, grey people in these depressing, grey alleyways and simply extract their souls and inject them into these various electronics she has lying around. Their memories will be gone, they will be reborn, and she will finally have friends.

Things don't go well for her. Or rather, they do, for a while. Long enough for her to regain a bit of that energy she lost, and finally feel... organized. It's enough. It's MORE than enough. But she needs to know how far she can go. See, all of these experiments have so far failed. They're all just as depressing and grey as they were before, and no amount of scolding or tinkering or screaming or poking or prodding is making them better. She just can't get her new friends to behave normally.
