Low magic fantasy.
Colorful, unexplored, forests and mountains with rich ruins waiting to be discovered after a long dark age. Histories and art show evidence of there once being powerful and mystical animals each which their own territory. Over time the descendants of bloodlines have lost their power and become more humanoid.
These bloodlines still hold political power in most places but their magical power and physical strength is similar to that of a normal human, and the extent of the power of these ancient creatures as well as their form is much debated.
Modern alternative universe inhabited by a diverse population of humanoid monsters who have very inconsistent logic to their biology. Extreme, colorful, over the top.
This world has culture very similar to our own but its inhabitants are a whole ton odder, each with their own weird monster traits due to rapid and high rates of mutation caused by chemicals in the air released by underground volcanoes continuously. Populous is generally nonviolent, nations have similar governments, pop culture is similar and inhabitants have jobs very much like what we're used to. What's most strikingly different is the world of sports, which is has more extreme rules where payers are encouraged to exploit their physical abilities to trump the other team.
My characters in this universe are all friends living in a small town which have started their own baseball team. The sport is fun and friendly on the surface but its dark underbelly hides bribery, drug use, and violence. While paying just for fun the team struggles for funding and loose quite frequently to other teams with stronger players and their sometimes illegitimate tactics.
Characters in this universe are either on the team or friends of the players who often help with fundraising uniform design, and the like.
Characters whos world I haven't developed much and have friends I haven't properly designed yet
