a seafarer-only totalitarian police-state, aequor is a miserable city that lays on the ocean floor miles under the surface. it's marked by high walls, strict rules, and darkness. the only kinds of people that live here are abyssal seafarers, a subspecies that has bioluminescence and can withstand intense oceanic pressure. escaping this city is nearly unheard of, but there are a meager few who've made it out.
ambrosia is a glamorous, rich city of socialites, actors, business owners, royalty, and more. located in the beautiful stardew meadow, this city is a popular location for people to move to in order to make it big in the entertainment industry. the downtown area is marked by store after store, and is well known to be a tourist location for shopping. the night life of the city is filled with casinos, elite parties, and celebrity appearances.
berk is a cold island home to massive deciduous and coniferous forests that are completely surrounded by a perilous mountain range. isolated from the rest of the planet, the island is a snapshot back in medieval times, complete with blacksmithing, shepherding, jousting, and more. berk is home to predominantly dragons, and is the home of the king of lazura, kratos. an enormous volcano in the mountain range supplies the island with all the raw materials it needs for its various exports and metal smithing.
a very popular location, the urban city of bismarck is the largest city on the mainland. careers of residents widely vary from sketchy gang leaders to flashy models; bismarck is certainly a city of opportunity if nothing else. although bismarck is known for its rich history, beautiful architecture, and affordable living, the older outskirts of the city are derelict and dangerous.
buckhorn is a bonafide western city out in the desert, where a large basin of underground water sustains this heavily populated city of farmers, miners, ranch owners, and more. buckhorn residents are typically pretty friendly if not a bit suspicious of outsiders, though they're known to be very hospitable, especially to travelers who got lost in the desert. buckhorn is technologically behind compared to other locations, though there is a more advanced suburbs on the left side of the city. residents tend to be well armed and alert due to the rampant zombie population in the desert; houses on the outskirts of the city tend to be heavily fenced and guarded. due to both superstition and heavier nocturnal zombie activity, buckhorn residences are never seen outside after the sunset.
fablehaven is a large community of fae that support each other within a pocket dimension that was created to escape the marisian invasion of lazura. it's a safe haven for fae species and is accessible through special mirrors. the pocket dimension was created 700 years ago by chimere, a dragon seeking a safe place for herself, her brother, and other fae; her and her brother keep the dimension stable with magic. fae go there to live in peace in order to avoid trafficking and abduction. residents are free to come and go as they please, though chimere prefers no one leave. the atmosphere is peaceful, and magic use is common.
the neighboring kingdom to the fiery kingdom of ash. this kingdom is located on an island which shares half of its land with a kingdom of fire beings. the kingdom of frost's half of the island is entirely made of ice and snow, and temperatures never rise above freezing. this kingdom is ruled by ice dragons, which make up the majority of the population. some other species that are suited for frigid environments live there as well, though they're much less common. this kingdom is very strong willed and territorial; they pride themselves in their strength and fighting skills, and even young residents are trained to fight. the kingdom of frost is currently in a begrudging alliance with the kingdom of ash.
lavendia is a small town in the foggy forest. this town is peculiar in that it's located in perpetual state of autumn; it never rains, and the trees constantly shed red, orange, and yellow leaves. the town is occasionally blanketed by a thick fog. the outskirts of lavendia are populated by ranches that grow pumpkins, cabbage, carrots, sweet potatoes, and other fall vegetables. inside the outskirts, lavendia is an average suburban town, albeit a bit behind with technology. the harvest and halloween are celebrated year round.
lunemoor is a swiss style city with very little technology. most of the houses are wooden cottages, and the town makes its living by exporting wool and lumber. lunemoor is considered a safe haven for fae species as the city is very hard to get to, since it's completely surrounded by the stratus mountain range, and was generally untouched during the marisian invasion. residents tend to be friendly, and the atmosphere there is very peaceful. the majority of the population is made up of various fae species. beside lunemoor is the largest freshwater lake on the continent, known as lake geneva. this lake provides a steady supply of clean water and fish to the residents of lunemoor.
makwa village is a small, wintery town on a flattened out region in the stratus mountain range. residents live in sturdy log cabins and make their living off lumber, wool, and dairy made from goats and sheep. most of the residents are earthdwellers that have adapted to be suited for cold weather. makwa village is also unique in that it's known for enormous sheep and mountain goats that the residents ride around like horses in order to travel the precarious rocky landscape.
mauna island is home to an ancient civilization that is powered through magic life-giving crystals. aleki is the leader of the island, though he lacks the hundreds of years of experience that leaders are supposed have before becoming inaugurated. he is doing his best, but is often plagued by the demands and traditions of his home. mauna residents don't like outsiders due to a history of colonizers attempting to mine the island of its natural resources. mauna natives use a special kind of technology and power fueled by their crystals. most if not all of the residents are fire elementals, as mauna is covered in active volcanoes and lava pools.
this strange town is surrounded by miles of empty desert and inexplicable occurrences. despite being as large as a city, conventional maps don't mark its location, and it's believed to be cursed. time doesn't flow normally there, and bizarre weather phenomena plague the townspeople, who all seem relatively used to the nature of their settlement. undead species, paranormal events, divinity, and more unusual residents make their home in this town, which is constantly shrouded in a starry twilight sky.
rio is a lively, colorful city brimming with culture, festivals, parties, and celebrations of all different kinds. the general population is made of cheerful skywalkers of the tropical bird variant, which is partly the reason for the joyful attitude, as skywalkers are generally social and friendly. the city is mainly comprised of sports, tourism, and restaurants in terms of its most successful industries; dancing is also particularly popular in the city. native rio residents are typically very welcoming towards new arrivals. the city is bordered by a lush rainforest.
shadowspire is a hidden kingdom on an island that's closed off from most of the world. the kingdom is shrouded in a perpetual, dark night sky, and is surrounded by a black, purple, and teal forest. the kingdom is ruled by vincent, a powerful shadow dragon that lives in a massive castle located in the center of the island. he's a strong and fearless individual, but his soul has been slowly eaten away by black magic. his use of black magic has warped him into a vile person; he's pretty bitter and unkind, and takes advantage of people for his own gain. he's unkind to his servants most of the time, and punishes people who defy him swiftly. residents of shadowspire attempt to avoid him at all costs.
the looking glass is a kingdom that has been put in a forcefield of powerful magic in order to keep trespassers from entering. the kingdom was once ruled by powerful unicorns, until the marisian invasion began, and the residents were forced to hide. the queen, esperanza, made a forcefield powerful enough to keep out intruders and any species that's not fae. it's easy to leave, but hard to return. time no longer passes in this suspended kingdom; the kingdom is stuck in a fantasy medieval-esque time, and the people there are generally opposed to modernity. technology really isn't commonly used, and even esperanza herself is baffled by most modern devices.
