no big story
characters with either no story or no connection to an overarching narrative. some characters are well-developed in terms of personality but do not have a narrative they slot into.
All of my Xynthii live in the same tiny town on Xygoroth that's sandwiched between the ocean and the dark woods. They're about an hour away from a hot vacation town, so they get a few lost tourists wandering around in the summer, but are otherwise isolated. There's some strange goings-on and big personalities running around on those dirty beaches...
