"Never a dull moment with Basil!" If the sudden perk up and spark in their eyes weren't enough, Littlepoppy's stubby tail wagging back and forth was enough to give away their excitement at the prompt. "Actually, I wonder where Basil is right now? We were supposed to go laze about in the sun together later—" The lanky warrior cut herself off abruptly, spotting the wavy-furred cat not too far off; although a smile had already been bright on his muzzle, it uncharacteristically softened alongside their voice. "I'm not sure where I'd be without them if I'm honest. I think I come up short on words to describe how I feel for Basil, 'love' wouldn't quite be the right choice." Littlepoppy seemed a bit lost in thought before their ears shot up again. "They made me believe in soulmates. I think... every time Basil comes to mind, I know and feel that I am loved. And that is something I never thought I would have."

Company was the last thing Kaeja had expected to enjoy in her late years. She was reluctant, at first, accepting Olive's presence and honestly, tad annoying amount of visits. Gradually, this old farmer began to warm up to her. Noticing Olive tending to and teaching her daughter, her loving hand, her kind smile... Kaeja begins to miss having her once she takes her leave. Even going as far as to offer her a place to stay.
A chance friendship that has left Olive simultaneously confused and enamored, she values Kaeja's awkward company. Something seems to pull her toward the woman. Whether that be her overwhelming kindness or the want, the desire to breach her emotional barriers. Similar interests brought them together and keep giving excuses to see each other more. As much as Olive travels, a tug always pulls her back to Kaeja's farm.
Between their inconsistent side gig as a blacksmith and the occasional pirating, Merill's attention has been caught by a rather indescribable woman. Whether it be the recklessness or her impulsive tendencies, they have undeniably felt a few butterflies fluttering about in their stomach around Ross. Falling for someone was never really something they had considered prior. However, they find themselves reliving time spent together— life and death experiences included, often hoping for a little more.
Very few things could give Ross the same feeling of freedom the way sailing across the waves could. However, Merill seems to give off the same powerful presence that the ocean does, one that draws Ross in with no effort. The feeling of the sea could be found rocking her heart, and Merill is the storm behind the rough current. Ross finds herself returning to that small workshop to simply spend time with them, something that surprises her considering the hold that the ocean has on her. Ross hopes that one day Merill will join her on her ship, where they can spend the rest of their days.
A pest even in her finer moments, Tala finds Kitty's presence rather comforting- being fussed at or otherwise. While inappropriate jokes toward Kitty are inevitable and to be expected from Tala, she finds herself wanting more than just a simple fling (as she would with any other woman). Whether it be expressed through the way she tends to smile differently around her, or how she feels safer around Kitty in comparison to anyone else, Tala overall enjoys the time they spend together.
Time and space doesn't seem to get this leech of a woman away from Kitty. Whether that be at the Blackwater saloon, in the woods, or somehow following behind, Tala never seems to take the hint. Although Kitty, a very caring woman under all that judgement and reward money; she sometimes finds Tala's company quite bothersome. Especially when the company in question is so agitating, ignorant, and begrudgingly some-would-say alluring...Almost as if, headache or not...Kitty does appreciate the presence that Tala gives and a pretty one at that. Basking in the rare moments of genuine sweetness that the fire and food bring between each other, Kitty finds it hard to completely kick her away.
Though they don't see each other very often anymore due to Bethari staying further away, Tala finds an odd comfort in the other. She has never had romantic feelings for them, which was the reason for their first fallout, but nonetheless she learned a lot from her while being 'sneaky links'. Tala couldn't commit to a real relationship with Beth, but would risk her life for the bounty hunter at the drop of a dime.
One would think after multiple hook-ups, spontaneous flings, and even a failed attempt at something more, the two wouldn't like each other very much. Bethari thinks quite the opposite. In spite of their ups and many, many downs, the two remain good friends after it all. They trust Tala and can handle her constant teasing well. Beth has protected the woman before and would happily do it again if needed.
Taking in Bethari and their brother had quite possibly changed a lot of views Kaeja had had. Caring for the two of them, watching them both grow up and make mistakes along the way was an emotional rollercoaster that she wouldn't trade for anything. While being a shoulder to cry on for Beth, she often worries for the bounty hunter's safety. Kaeja knows they're able to care for themself, but can't help but to be afraid of what the future of gunslinging will hold for her.
The only true parental figure she has ever known, Bethari is beyond grateful for Kaeja's overwhelming kindness. Having taught them almost everything that she knows, the older woman is akin to a mother for her. Despite the two having drifted apart as of recent, the bounty hunter does try to make spaced out visits to Kaeja's farm. Occasionally she will have supplies sent to Kaeja's farm as a gentle reminder of her gratitude. They find her to be the only one she can comfortably confide in.
If ever given the chance to read their journal, it wouldn’t be hard to find any pages on Bethari. To a point blank, Hoxmoore is in love with their close friend, and business partner, Beth. Though as much as they would hate to admit it, their feelings tend to make them very guilty and uncomfortable with oneself. Due to their denial about their feelings for other women, this extreme infatuation for Beth tends to make them sick to their stomach. Even still, they can’t help to constantly thinking about her, tend to her horses, and going as far to wash their clothes after skirmishes. Always eager to be around them; even if that means they’ll never be romantically involved.
Never one to make friends, it's obvious from first glance into the two that Bethari puts a lot of trust into Hoxmoore. While still a bit distant with things concerning her history, she feels safe around the other, safe enough to frequently accept and enjoy their company. They seem to find Hox.. amusing— different, or rather feel differently around them. Albeit a tad frustrating to understand at first, they have come to welcome it. An attachment to someone hadn't crossed her mind prior, so Bethari is a stranger to feeling this kind of fondness.
