Spacefolk
spacefolk are massive, celestial creatures created for every universe, galaxy, star, and planet. they are made to protect their charge, and are easily replaced by another (they are formed by the 'higher-celests') to continue out their guard, while the one who'd 'died', failed their task, or disappointed the highers in any way are imprisoned for an unsaid amount of time for failing. they never come back the same, always much more cold, work-driven, and intense.
