A man and woman explore a cave entrance that is exposed in the wake of a sinkhole. Within, they discover a huge subterranean cavern with a unique ocean-like biome that holds creatures previously unseen by humans. After discovering they can communicate with the humanoid inhabitants of the cavern, the couple takes up permanent residence within the cave.
Years after the birth of their child and opening up the cavern to human visitors, their daughter explores the deepest reaches of the realm that no human has seen before, all while strange occurrences begin to occur.
